I'm in the same camp..if it sounds good it is good. Love having the drives in the AX8 and FM9...a nice array to choose from..can find your "flavor" in all the choices. I've also been a Koko boost fan for years..got both OG and the newer version...OG still has a magic like none other..

My favorites as of the moment...The older Petrucci Trinity and the newer JP Jazz III...generally at least 1.35 mm or more thick..and the Jazz or Jazz III sizes. Was using the 1.5MM Black Ice Planet Waves, but holding onto them when any moisture was invovled was a challenge.

Somewhat warmer mid focused..Clarity without harshness...Girth without bloat...Maybe somewhere in the 11-13k range..I lprefer Alnico 5...can be tight but still have warmth.

In these examples..I prefer the unboosted..but I did like the grindy mids the TS9 added....it was a bit harsher and didn't have the same girth.. OD1X just seemed to lose a touch of upper mid focus..and did clean up the overall low end a bit. I have a Fireball 100, as we all know, only tards...
