No Bluetooth or WiFi; seems like a huge miss.
But I like the Kemper user interface and the powered rack/toaster format is perfect for us guys that go into a 4x12, so I'll wait for the new profiling tech this summer to see if I end up with one of these new ones.
I've had a '98 blueface and an '07 Silverface.
both had a very strange feel that took getting used to. Very stiff. The '98 was super dark and flat unless you had it roaring, when it sounded pretty magnificent but kinda hard to use. The '07 was brighter and more aggressive but was very...
So if the nut just comes off when unscrewed (counter clockwise), it's a single action rod.
If it's a single action rod and if you tighten the nut (clockwise) as far as it'll go and you still want less relief (the neck straighter) the solution is to take the nut off and put washers under the...
Same. I don't currently have a guitar with a Custom in it, but if I wanted one guitar to do clean to metal, the custom would be the first place I'd look.
Had a QC but now use a Nano Cortex which for some reason seems to work better imho. I could not get a Kemper to sound right, but could be user error.
I may try ToneX. I'm ended up with a laptop with an NVIDIA card that can make the captures within a reasonable time, so now ToneX is on the...
Ignore this if this is getting off track, but I opted to capture the amp and then add an IR or use a PA type power amp/cab. Capturing a deafeningly loud amp is deafening, but just for two or three minutes. Then you don't have to do it again and can run the capture at whatever volume you want...
Have had them all but D. I've not played the new reissue, but from some of the clips it has me thinking it could be my favorite of them all. Just don't really want to spend $3600 when my Rev G and an 808 is doing fine.
Yeah, I only know of them because I was a huge Soundgarden and Pearl Jam fan, which led me to Temple of the Dog, which led me eventually to Mother Love Bone.
I just muse whether Mother Love Bone could have been huge and a household name if Andrew Wood had made it to push the band forward at the time.
As it ended up, yeah they unfortunately are pretty obscure.
Tough call. Depends on how much you dislike editing the AFX it think.
A thought might be for the Quad Cortex simply because its big screen is pretty easy to use compared to the Fractal. But unless you want the Quad Cortex to capture/profile amps, the Factual is IMHO a superior modeler and FX unit.
It's a heuristic but not end all, be all. Particularly for brands that sell across different piece points, you can see that the country of origin usually differs depending on the price point.
like so much else with high end gear, it becomes more like buying a piece of artwork after a certain price point. The particular materials, the winding provenance, the tension on the wire and how it varies as the wire is wound in layers, the hand doing the winding.
Which is fine for people...
I played 7s (then 8s) for a long time. On a budget, just cannot beat a used Japanese Ibanez. The Korean Schecters are nice enough and flashier. Korean LTDs too.
