    Who has ordered a custom guitar..

    I've ordered twice from Schecter: complete ground up custom orders (8-string Telecasters with Floyd Rose etc). They were great. Asked questions to make sure they understood what I wanted. Actually tested some thing first before they agreed to do it (theyd never done some of the things I asked...

    Caparison TAT is back!

    An ESP MII or Horizon seems to go for a lot more than $4200 these days. TAT ergonomics also a bit different. The Floyd isn't recessed into the body (but the body is routed behind it for pull up range). So the feel might be more like a Tuneomatic with the strings up higher from the face of the...

    SYN-1 tube question for tech types

    Yeah, V1 is the tube in the dock. Synergy's innovation is that the dock has three cathode bypass values (loosely Fender, Marshall, Mesa/Soldano), and the module tells the dock which of the three to use. Prior modular preamps like Randall and Egnator had a fixed cathode bypass value (I think...

    Sold 1990 Tom Anderson Pro Am - Bowling Ball

    Love this thing. My first nice guitar was a TAG from this era. Do you know what fret size and material Lipe used? He made a guitar for me years ago and was super talented.

    Soldano SLO 100

    I had a rack head from 89 I think. It was ok. Not quite a Marshall. I preferred my boosted JMP. I honestly thought it sounded similar to a Mesa Mark (I know the circuits are not related); maybe it was the smooth tone and touch responsiveness. But I preferred the Mark for its chugga chugga...

    Torpedo Reload II - NEW

    So: this thing itself does not have any cab sims? That seems like a strange choice.

    How many of you are Strat guys?

    Yeah. The USA SRV and EJ Virginia have flat boards and tall frets, but I don't trust Fender USA fretwork enough to risk buying one. I trust Fender Japan though.

    How many of you are Strat guys?

    Those looks awesome. How tall are those frets? Fender says Super Jumbo I think? I love really tall frets and have always been interested in those Kotzen Strats.

    Moving Cross Country… should I trust a moving company?

    I drove them since we decided to drive one of the cars across anyway. The POD idea seems like a good one. I think you could pack it yourself and no one will open it up while it's in transit. A normal moving truck I think can be shared with other moves some times, so they may shift the stuff...

    We need a device to run two heads into one cab

    VH4S This maybe could be done with a preamp through an amp head's parallel FX loop.

    Do the UA OX box speaker simulation algorithm's sound better than standard IR's?

    Yeah it has the speaker break up and an intuitive way to mix in room mics. UA stuff sounds amazing but is such a pain in the ass work with. They just don't think through the actual workflow.

    Another GC Oopsy Daisy

    To the OP: it's possible that it had a speaker cable initially but someone swiped it. Not much excuse for having an unplayable guitar on the wall. Most charitable guess is that the neck relief shifted once it acclimated to the new environment after it was traded in and just needs the rod adjusted.

    IRs Dos and Donts?

    I also like Ownhammer mixes from what I've tried. Sound way better than what my dumbass can get from actually miking up my cabs. And I agree don't be worried about using EQ if you want. That's what it's there for. No reason to go insane looking for subtle difference in IRs when you can just...

    Gibson Announces Limited Mark IIC++

    I think this is the right mindset. It seems kinda like a dick move for Mesa to artificially limit supply and jack up the margin for a C++, but Mesa still makes the normal C+, JP2C, and the VII. They all do the Mark thing and will sound great at a more reasonable price. (And of course there...

    Get ready to be mad... the Fortin Killer Kali module is awesome!

    The Fortin post was hilarious but I'd give the Iconic guy some grace since it seems like maybe the company's had a rough couple of months.

    Gibson Announces Limited Mark IIC++

    Gibson recently sold Hammett LPCs for like $9,000. I don't know why they'd price a run of 200 amps, aimed at the same market, for under $4,000. But I'd be happy to be wrong.

    Gibson Announces Limited Mark IIC++

    I'm a little surprised that it'll be limited to 200, but the alleged price may be self limiting anyway. Saw speculation on another forum that it could be $6-7k. I would not be surprised to see similar Rev F or Rev C treatment coming for the Recto.
