That is far too kind and generous an assessment, but very much appreciated and the positive feedback helps break the ice so to speak. I will post more clips. maybe a/b/c the 77 2204, JVM and Plexi?
I was trying to get as close to my 1959HW as I could. Settings....Master was about noon. OD 2 red.. Channelvolume cranked ,pre amp gain barely cracked, Mids dimed, bass and treble presence about 10 oclock. Resonance cranked. For me the real surprise is how good that EPI 355 sounds and plays...
Epi 355 is one of those inspired by Custom Shop Alex Lifeson look alike models. It has Gibson Custom Shop PUPs of some sort. Custombuckers I believe. It is a great guitar despite being an Epiphoney.
Thanks. I got mine new with good guy discount for 1550 to my door. Cant complain! I like it and I hav had LOTS of "more premium " amps but this things sounds good to me in the house setting. Trying it in band setting Monday.
.
EPI 355 into red channel od2 Red with Gain almost off. straight into OX preset 1 into UA Volt 246 into Garage band. first clip since Tascam portastudio days, LOL.
Trying to post a fkn clip....I plugged it straight in to the dreaded red channel of od 2 with an epiphone 355 into preset 1 on an OX and made a quick wank clip with but I cant get it to upload? .. technically challenged?
Recently bought a new JVM. It seemed like a lot of amp for the current price and I love amps sp wtf I bought one. LOL
I had one when they first came out and I remember liking it at first and digging the features but ultimately moved on finding it a tad thin and brittle compared to say a...
Yngwies early work was and still is untouchable for that style. Nothing has ever came close. IMO. everything else including most later Yngwie sounds like drivelous wankery in comparison
It is a vintage voiced amp and has great clarity and lots of voicing options but I would not consider it tight and clear in terms low end chug. think of it like a 2204 in terms of tightness. It will tighten up ok with a boost, but it is a Marshall at heart. Llike a having a jtm 45, and a 2204...
The green channel is a great pedal platform. There are not many videos or clips out there from what I can see. Bxlxaxkxe did a real good demo as did Rappaport but you have probably seen/heard those?
He was phenomenal in Alcatrazz. Like you said, he had less room to meander which helped his phrasing immensely imo.
His playing fit the songs like a glove and yet had so much fire. Blew my mind when I first heard them on KLOS in 1983. it gave me hope because Randy was gone, EVH was going...
I liked the Astro 20. Have you tried the Helios JB45? It seems that would be an amp you might like. Vintage character, tons of variations of Marshall and modded Marshall tones, but can also be dialed in with smoother tones more like the XTC with the "modern switch" on the back.. I had...
