It is a hard amp to dial without sounding sterile and without fizziness. My advice is buy it if you're willing to mod it, otherwise a dsl plus a boost is a better alternative imho.
Have you considered a SD custom 5? Less mids, more lows and not as aggressive high end as the JB, I have one in a Les Paul and like it. But still my fav combo for Les Paul is the JB/Jazz 35th anniversary.
Yap, it feels different. That's because the coloring pigment causes the solid colors to have a slightly less irregular surface than the transparent ones.
I think that case is cool because it allows one to safely carry the guitar as check in luggage when flying. To go around locally then one can always buy a good gigbag.
A 6 year old Les Paul 50's tribute that costs 50 € less than a new one? An axcess which is 9 years old that costs 200€ less than a new one? etc etc could be here the whole day.
So now that those guys left will the custom shop close and will it be only made to measure? or just regular production? HJ is effin Gibson beyond measure...
The tale has it that Rick Gembar was also behind this great idea, is that true?

I'm with you on this one. I actually thought that the 2017 limited series had ebony fretboards. So why the Les Paul in that series is limited? What's different from the regular custom?
This guitar is absolutely gorgeous! Have you bought it yet? :D
Funny, my experience is the opposite. Have been buying great custom shop and non-custom shop Gibson guitars through the years. But I always tried some before picking the one I'm buying, maybe this makes the difference. idk
