    Wing C EL34s a big deal?

Nah, I tried a quad way back around 2009 in my Marshall Superlead & the JJ 6CA7s ( I think they just came out around then) sounded MUCH better.

    Mesa Factory Repair Costs?

i sent a quad preamp to them for service as i bought it used on ebay. they looked over the entire unit and replaced all 12 preamp tubes and it was under 150 dollars with shipping. i was shocked at the price, turn around time and overall customer service they provided. this was back in the early...

MXR M-152 Micro Flanger omg !

I had one of the older ones and sold it because of the sweep. It would stop and start at the beginning and end.

Anyone feel like they don't gain from using an attenuator?

I have the opposite experience. I been diming my 100 watt superlead for decades with a Marshall Powerbreak attenuator and all i ever have to do is replace power tubes every 6 months and general maintenance.

Marshall Super Lead with Mods - Too Bright

I have a bright 1974 MKII Superlead. If it sounds to bright, I adjust the tone control on the guitar until it sounds good. Done. I wish I would have done that years ago instead of trying to mod the amp / change values to get rid of the brightness. I did, however, remove the 5000pF bright cap...

Oh the irony... i had to pull out of a local deal for a marshall 1960b because i'm having back spasms.

yeah I'm 52 and go to the gym regularly. what hurts the most are my joints and tendons, my muscles seem to recover normally.

    Petrucci Bromance

Here's why. Sex sells, especially in the entertainment business. He does NOT have that either visually or musically. He's the total opposite of what sells, especially for females.

Hendrix Monterey Strat sees light of day....

That's an awesome video! Just thinking though...just because it was Jimi's doesn't mean it's automatically a great sounding / playing guitar. He could have bought a POS sounding one not realizing or knowing any better. Would people still think it sounded great when in fact, it didn't? The mind...

What’s your favorite lead boost volume tool?

I use an MXR Mini Booster in the loop of my DSL-40CR for the small gigs I'm playing now. Works great.

    EVH Harmonics

How on earth was Eddie able to make all of those tapped harmonics pop out loud and clear? I been trying off and on for decades and I can't figure it out. Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't. I wan't to be able to do it every single time with no effort like Ed did. My band is learning Dance...

Bright Les Paul, Need a Pickup - JB v Super Distortion v Duncan Custom v Marshallhead mk2 v 57 Classic (stock) v Rebel Yell

I had a super D in my Les Paul (bridge) and it sounded really good- nice and fat. My LP also is on the brighter side. I have a Dimarzio 36th Ann. in it now and that's Ok but I might put the super D back in.

    Gibson... Really?

Here's mine. It's a 1984 Artist Series. Paid 400 bucks for it back around 94 or 95. It was originally an ugly purple sunburst. I painted it with about 10 small cans of Testors metallic red model paint. lol Oh and I made the pickguard. It originally was the model that didn't have one. The toggle...

NGD: 1985 Norlin Les Paul Custom (Update!!!!!!)

Awesome guitar & congrats! I have a Norlin 1980 LP standard and I love it. It has three piece plain maple top. It does NOT have a pancake body, its a solid 10.2 lbs piece of wood. I hardly ever see any with a pancake body.... Mine has "SECOND" stampled on the back, under the serial # but...
