I kind of think the best thing you could get would be whatever guitar you want, everything wired up, but with no pickup. Because thats the thing that I want to be able to tweak in the end and try a few options.

I agree, I quickly noticed that it sounds like he's being working on the vocals, which is cool. Definitely White Lion vibe, right down to the thought out guitar solo. Nice to hear.

If I had to spend 5k on gear I’d have a hard time not getting a new Robin Machete and a Morris UK68. I may have to top it up a bit or get a 67, but that’s fine

For me its more so "the amp has a developed a hum, let me swap a couple tubes and see if I can eliminate that" rather than trying to fine tune the tone. The more I turn the amp up the more the differences fade away if its just trying to nitpick the tone.

I often will keep the back covers off if I'm rolling tubes fairly frequently, but if I am happy with it I'll put it back on. Preamp tube covers are a waste of time. They stay off
