I am quite suprised how loud is Naylor 60, it getting louder even after 2 o'clock o_O My gig volume is around 10 o'clock. I had MCII EL34 100W too but Duel 60 is still the amp I enjoy every time I play. MC was very unforgiving, dry sounding and I just doesn't enjoy gigging with it as much.
I had MK50II and it has huge sound for 50watter, JCM800 2004 sounded very boxy beside it. Very curious about 100W Cornford.
btw I was at Winery dogs last week and Kotzen played thru 100W plexi + fullstack. Only thing he used was RK Tech pedal. He sounded phenomenal, thick and throaty. I had to...
V30/GB works in top/bottom configuration. In X-pattern V30 will dominate the upper row a greenback doesn't make too much sense. The 'magic' of this combo is in different efficiency and mixing of mid-woodiness of GB and big magnet tightness of V30.
I have 4x12 Bogner which came with V30. Great...
Celestion speakers fit in Fatbottom cab without any issues so I assume Scumbacks will fit too. Put them on the top and switch bottom ones with heavier magnet model like SC H75 or Cel. Redback or V30.
I can't imagine Soldano release amp under his name and said the older ones are better :) This is not how business works. Also 60 year old pair of ears is not the best judge in this.
I had SLO MK2 and played 2010 DeYoung SLO100 and despite perfect loop and lower noise I choose older one in a...
Hi guys,
I want to buy US Charvel and there are not many in Europe.
What I've found is '95 US (San Dimas? ) in Germany for aprox. 1200$ The model with rounder headstock and SSS pickuguard. How they are pricewise/qualitywise in compare to newer Select series ?
The same about Eclipse vs 100. The Eclipse has lost the essential of the sound the original has. Not worth to have separate clean channel. The input/channel switch mod was enough for using cleans on 100W.
I also have Smallbox but for me it was not even close...not bad but somewhat flat, not so...
Diezels are affordable in EU so there is not 'those are pricey, they have to sounds amazing' syndrome. Oposite of Mesa Boogie which are priced insane in Europe.
Herbert is only one I quite like.
no contest here. Peavey sound much better than Diezels :)
Last time we brought VH2 to recording session and it sounded just terrible beside the other amps. We had Triple rec, Wizard MC2 and VHT Deliverance and those sound much better. Not a fan at all, I had VH4, Einsteins, Lil Fokker and Hagen...
BKP has very wide model scale and each model is very different and without talking about specific model, it is just useless. I had Mules in LP and they sound much better than 80's Shaws I have in the same guitar. Pickups are very guitar-specific and these general statements don't have any...
Scumback H75s have more highend than other Scumbacks I have. I can recommend J75 65W, they are darker and very full sounding, pair great with V30 in top/bottom config. I had this mix in Bogner 4x12 but finally replaced V30 with H75 65W for little bit more sizzle.
Worked great with Wizard MCII...
