I think you were smart to request slightly heavier Mahogany .
Can't be sure of course but I think neck throughs especially don't have as much bottom end if they are not a little
heavier, so more weight is a good thing for deeper tones IMO, especially on this type.
Congrats, you didn't mention...
I once had an H-S-H BC Rich that had 3 , 3 Way Toggles so there were two modes for each pickup plus "off".
At one point I had the single coil straight to output, jack for punch , bandwith.
So you can have a switch bypass your volume , tone pots but still have them available.
Interesting. Thinking if someday getting the CAB version which
dies not have the LOADBOX feature, but works with Tube Preamps etc.
What I wonder is, when you have a nice crunchy or creamy overdrive from your
Amp , and play with 1X10s 1X12s 4X10s etc. does it radically reshape the Tones ?
Never chased it but I noticed on that comeback tour when I saw some of the Videos that his Tones were excellent:
What a brilliant Guitarist he is, perfect for that Group
Great Rhythm Parts and Colorist etc.
Not conventional Tele Tones, right ?
Also may imorove the tone a bit to use a load on the Tiny Terror right ?
However when you get down to 1 watt , you are at line level anyway, but at 5 or 10 watts , totally different.
The other problem is that even a 1 watt tube Amp or a 5 watt turned way down...can produce peak power...
I am curious regarding how much variation the CAB IRs have on a good tube preamp such as ADA MP1.
As a practice Rig I have used a very good ADA MP 1 into the CAB IRs of a POD XT with surprisingly good
results, and the.different IRs can change the tones quite a bit.
Obviously the CAB IRs...
May be true but you can play it with all alternate picking...
Much more mentally simple...IMO.
Different people have different ways to approach things but when someone says you HAVE to do it this way
or you WON'T be able to play the lick ...there's usually more than just one way.
Good...
You have to posess a monster right hand to play this style..
And they all have excellent to great chops.
IMO the music suffers a little from lack of rhythmic variety, but I'm sure there are exceptions..... Include a few half notes and whole notes , maybe... ?
I'd be really interested in a Review of the Two Notes and how vetsatile it is in conjunction with the Preamps.
For example if different Cab IRs in the Two Notes can radically change the Tones of a given Tube Preamp Voicing.
So let us know on a new thread after you get it.
Thanks.
Wow -I'm not the OP but this is a VERY good point and a good example.
Another example , although I don't know if shredding is the word but Steve Morse with Dixie Dregs , I saw him at U of Miami and he never really used much gain and his Country Shredding stuff was loud cranked Clean.
I'm not a big fan of his Music but he is an Amazing Guitarist IMO.
I saw a Video of him at 18 , 19 years of age and he was already an Amazing Guitarist IMO..
I actually preferred that style musically, but that's just me.
I'm glad he's made a lot of money and he has a niche musically...
Yeah.
I got one of ebay that has noise mods and it's quiet and not buzzy or thin.
I use it for Vintage Sounding Marshall low to medium gain into Cab IRs and the Cab IRs in Modelers.
Sounds surprisingly good for this, but rarely have I seen it on a Demo...
For Fusion Stuff , I sometimes use...
The clean channel and boosted cleans sound unusually good to me on this Amp.
Is anyone else hearing it this way ?
Could be the perfect Cab to fill out the low end but still.....
I am very curious about how well the Torpedo or Two Notes CAB works with various Tube Pres also.
So please post a Thread when you try it .
I'd like to hear them with EFX also,.just the way we're used to hearing the better modelers.
