But i guess it also works with a cranked TS. It has a little less punch and a little less articulation in the room though.
Master has got to be high. It was on 1 in my Clip above, which is too low.
They use their inhouse made in Vietnam Transformers now. They still work i guess. The "Dagnalls" of the last 20 years before were Made in Malta. I'm ok with Dagnalls Made in Malta. 🤷♀️
I tried to raise the mids, but even 9 oclock was too much with the rest of the knobs untouched. Then i tried my old setting again, didn't like it. Neither in the room nor recorded. I checked it out with my 3 Standard SM57 Placements. Then i changed the Setting of my TS to classic clean boost...
Seems like i'm stranded in "Scooped Land" now.
Still plenty of mids compared to a Mesa, even with the mids on zero though.
I'll probably like it for a few days....
It's a sickness at this point. Although some will propably get sick from only listening to it. That's ok.
This ☝️
Might as well have something to do with maple instead of mahogany.
I have not decided yet if i should try the 70 Custom or not...Don't know if it makes sense with the kind of noise i produce :D
Did you listen to the whole Clip?
The second Part is with the Marshall which reproduces the pinch harmonics like i want to hear them: Open and sweet and NOT crippled and broken as i call it.
I think it has something to do with the gain structure and the openess of the Amp.
You can sometimes get...
The other 5150s aren't better than the original 50 Watters. ;)
Regarding the Engl: If you know one you know all.
I find the EVH Amp line a bit more raw and organic. The Engls are simply too flat soundwise.
You might wanna check out Lenz Amplification.
The Octane is pretty good. Ask...
I had one. It's a good Cab. But it began to rattle at a certain Volume with my Low Tuned Chugging. But i read what you wrote regarding that ;)
Have you tried the EVH 412?
The Original 50 Watter is the most organic of the Bunch. The Stealth 100 is pretty plastic.
My suggestion is: Get a pre 2022 JCM800 2203 and treat it with pedals.
