I just had an idea. What if you were to have an amp that offered half power on one channel, I like having clean cleans at high volume, but I like the sound of cranked lead channels. Do any amp manufacturers do this? Seems like the best of both worlds. I've always been put off by 50 watters...

Great guitar! Looks awesome man, the trem on that thing is fantastic, beats all my lic' trems (Jackson, LTD and Tokai) by a long way! Body is a bit thin for me, but that's a taste thing. I recommend changing the pickups though. Still, awesome man!

I would just mod it, the clean channel on the II/+ is a fair bit better anyway, the seperate EQs are useful as well. Modding it will give you the best of both worlds. I own a 5150 II and I think it's pretty great, but doesn't fit my style totally, I'm selling it for a Jet City. There's so many...

An alternative is what I'm going to do in the near future. Since cables almost always break at the ends (the jacks), I'm going to buy a big load of Neutrik plugs and just cut the broken cables down to whatever size I want and attatch plugs. It's essentially the same thing but I'm not paying...

Yeah, the price almost seems too good to be true really. How close is it to Soldano specs? Also, you said it cleans up well, can it do jazz cleans? I've noticed that a lot of people are talking about the crunch with these amps, I'm guessing it does that well?

I've been looking at tremolo pedals as well. The EHX Worm is quite cheap, that's analog tremolo, vibrato and phaser and wah in one box for ~£65. Not sure if it's as 'strong' as a tone as I'm looking for, but you may be interested.
