I think if you try to use it as an overdrive into a overdrive amp as a boost you'll get mud. But if you use it more like.a distortion pedal, into amp that's breaking up, it's pretty hard to beat for some things. I dont like using it with for instance a bogner xtc or mesa jp-2c on their over...
In the mid 80s marshall made one. Jcm 800 2204s
I think the 70s jmp 2204 had a smaller chassis in a regular sized head shell. Buy one and build or modify a headshell?
My other guitar player ordered a custom pickup. Was told 6 weeks. Was nearly 4 months, and them being told to cancel the order before they got it shipped. Always had good luck ordering stock pickups though.
I agree that it pairs well, but the vintage 30 came out in 1985 for the Marshall studio 15.
Also agree a boost, and volume are really helpful. The low wattage setting of the standby was kinda useless to me.
For playing live? Recording? Just to own for fun? Honestly, for playing live you dont really need that many, but its fun to have a bunch and use at different times. Switch things up occassionally.
Im not really gassing for much right now for playing live. Would like to try the helios...
Honestly, if you're just using it at home practice, a boss katana is pretty awesome. Sounds just as good at extreme low volumes as it does at louder so if you want to play at 2:00am in your apartment it wont be a
Problem. I play mine with people sleeping in the next room all the time. If...
Other guitarist in my band ordered a custom pickup in may, was basically a hot paf tyoe with an alnico 5 based on his experience with the 59 etc and what he wanted to change in it. The pickup turned out really good, but... ordered in early may, was supposed to take 6 weeks and in late August...
But you were a troll in a good way. Fun. Funny. There were some guys like carl, and sukkmyballz or something like that that were trolls that were assholes.
Chris and bob started it. Later chris decided to sell it because it got too expensive and he was busy with life. Then Brad bought it...
I have a mesa 2x12 with vintage 30s and a splawn 2x12 with creambacks. Both sound great with a splawn. Greenbacks do too. I wouldnt overthink it too much, like a marshall, it's going to sound goo through most celestions.
I dont really want to sell this one, but I have too many and I'm trying to focus a bit more on playing instead of chasing tones..
2016 or 17, 50 watt splawn kn excellent condition. Has the NEW/OLD switch, the MID switch, loop volume, and even though it doesnt have a switch thr 50 watt are B+...
