Don't do it. I owned a Savage 120 Mk2, and although Channel 1 (Clean) and Channel 4 (Lead) are excellent, Channels 2 & 3 are a mystery, and basically useless. Every channel of the Herbert is excellent. Keep the Herbert. I sold my Savage Mk2, and got a VH4, and I couldn't be happier.

Never had this problem. And I am moving in and out two main preset banks all the time. Sounds like a software problem. I'd re-install the 5.04 firmware to start.

Just bought a used Egnater Armageddon, which is the big brother of the Veangeance. The Armageddon sounds great with 6L6s, which come stock. I changed the power tubes to KT77s and it sounds AMAZING!! Really under-rated amp series. I'm loving my Armageddon. Great midi switching too. Go for it!!

Run your Revv G8 in 4 cable method. It works best in 4CM

The fact that you like the tone of the VH2's "CH3" so much, makes me want to get one! I imagine that since the VH2 is a newer design, it got some cool refinements to it, and it translated into an excellent new VH4 CH3/4 tone. Way Cool!

Try, the EMG 81-x. It has more headroom, and sounds amazing to me. I have them in the bridge position of my main guitars (Ibanez RGD2120Z) I personally feel they make the original 81 obsolete.
