Modeling is Dead, and now Fender releases a modeler. Brilliant!
And it doesn't Capture.....Total Fail.
Capturing/Profiling is the future of Digital Rigs
Modeling = Someone else's idea of what the amp sounds like
Capturing = An exact copy of your amp with your settings
Awesome! I love my Quad Cortex. I literally have an exact copy of my tube rig in my QC, and it sounds exactly the same, and actually feels real under my fingers. It's an impressive unit. Worth every penny. Modeling is dead. Captures are the future.
I'm thinking it could be which Power Tubes are in each amp.
What Power Tubes were in the Hagen and are in your VH4?
If your Hagen had KT77s, and your VH4 has 6L6, then just change to KT77's in your VH4,
and you'll get that sizzle. that's what I'm thinking it is.
Wow! Thanks for the fast reply, Leo.
I'm sorry to bug you about these things.
1. Thank you SO MUCH for leaving Gain Structure at 4.12. It is Diezel perfection! IMHO
2. LOL, I can't check the Delay Level until Tuesday when I'm at my studio.
Thanks for checking for me.
This is a HUGE one for me...
Hi Leo,
Just to Clarify in OS 5.04,
1. Delay Level is only Log Taper, and not switchable to Linear?
2. Adjusted Gain Pot Range is set, and is not defeatable to 4.12 setting?
Sean, you need Bass Traps in the corners to defeat the Bass in the room.
There are tons of videos on how to build them, or you can buy them on Amazon, etc...
I have the Donner Noise Killer, and it's a simple gate, that does it's job taming my ENGL Invader 2.
Nothing Special.
I also have the REVV G8, and it is a SUPERB gate, that works best in 4 Cable Method.
No Tone Suck at all. Best gate I've ever used.
Nice! I don't ever want to sell my VH4.
I play mine at home now through a Marshall 4x12 (T75s)
with a Quad Cortex in 4CM.
Sounds AMAZING!
Really great setup you have there, Sean!
I swear by my EMG 81-X's in the Bridge position.
It's how I get my sound.
I've tried going back to passive, but every time,
EMG 81-x's sound better to me in the end.
Going on 11 years.
Both my Engl Invader 2, and my old Savage 120 Mk2 have the same 2 switchable FX loops (parallel or serial).
Gotta be honest, the Engl FX loops are not as good as my Diezels (VHX, VH4).
The Diezels' FX loops are plug n play.
I measured the Engl FX loop at +4db with a DB meter,
so I try to run...
You will love the G12K100s with V30s. Perfect mix for a Diezel head. The G12K100s help to smooth the brashness of V30s. The G12 K100/V30speakers in combination make your FX more 3D too. I run my VHX and my VH4 thru two 2x12s, 100s on top of the V30s. You could also try X-pattern
