Here's is 4 of mine (yes Dan, this is my flex :p...a mint silver screw MIJ Boss CE-2 with original box and papers  ) and I recently added a vintage TC SCF as well.
Still looking to score a DC-2 some day. Had the Anadime ADC-3 and 4, but sold them. They sounded great clean, but so-so with...
That was my feeling to some extent as well with the SE EL34 I had for a while. Cleans were really nice (but then again, so are those on my Invader), but the Crunch channel was not quite what I was looking for in a multi-channel amp, and Lead I and II were brutal, but in high gain mode easily too...
There are some functions of the 120 that I'd like to have, but the 60 is extremely versatile. Heck, I've played in a soul/funk coverband (weddings, new years eve stuff n' shit) with the Savage 60 and a strat about 20 years ago. :ROFLMAO:
It still does the cascading gain thing (where Rhythm...
You rang?
I had to add a little Palmer switching thingy to be able to hook up 2 cabs in series, since the Savage 60 just has 1 8 Ohm output and 1 16 Ohm, but it sounds glorious with both Marshall cabs.
I get where you're coming from, but like I said in my previous post, there are cables out there that are still affordable and definitely an upgrade over a bog standard $10-20 cable you buy in a store. And soldering it yourself can drop the price even more.
Also, it's always best practice to...
The LLX is different than the XXL; the reason I like the XXL so much is a few reasons:
-low enough capacitance
-very flexible
-thick (enough) inner core (0.75mm2, roughly AWG 18). Note that the LLX 'only' has a 0,38mm2 core (~AWG 21).
-smooth/glossy cable jacket; easy to clean and doesn't get...
Yes worth it...in reverse!
I went from buying Monster Rock cables to Sommer Spirit XXL and Klotz LaGrange, and soldering them myself. 1/3rd of the price for a better cable with more highs (lower pF/ft or pF/m if you're on my side of the Atlantic).
Another nasty thing about the Monster cables...
Please note that the DiMarzio Norton fits this to a t, but is 12.62kOhm DC. It's not super hot though...more medium, medium/hot. But clarity fer days!
@JohnnyGtar I'm very curious about trying the Evo2 in the future. I had the original Evo set in my Ibanez S series and after a while I found...
It's a small detail, but I like how he uses Eagle fluted knobs instead of those god awful chicken heads, that most folks seem to use.
I actually took those off my EVH 5150III and replaced them with the Eagle ones. Also the 2 master volume knobs on my Engl Invader 100 I replaced.
-Better...
Gucci Guilty Absolute ✅ is what real men smell like. Leather, wood, oil and medicine cabinet. 😉
Scotch: Dalmore 15, McCallan 12 Triple Cask, Aberlour 12 Double Cask, Glenkinchie... ✅
And I'm with you on the aged cheeses as well. The way every one talks about SLO100s on volume is life...
You could combine the Boss SE70 and a Lexicon LXP1 in 1U. Had them both, great little units, but ultimately sold them both last year, as they weren't getting much use (next to the Eclipse, PCM70 v2.0 and TC Reverb 4000, I'm pretty set for rack effects)
Omfg, that's some far fetched Nate Bargatze reference right there. 😅👍
And regarding the shit talker... My friggin' 2009 Pod X3 tones sound better then his tube amps. 🤣
If it isn't our resident 'tough guy' again. :jerkit:
Assumptions? Check (I've played multiple Diezels myself, but of course you know better than I do.)
Insults? Check. (do you know how many Metallica shows I've seen in person? No? Then STFU. And pretty sure you weren't at the GERMAN Rock am...
And this comes from someone, who owns the same Roland Jazz Chorus 120H head as James was/is using...why would you want THAT clean over a proper Mesa Mark clean channel? 🧐
If a Mesa Mark can be fully independant for clean and gain -so that one channel does not need to be compromised by the...
I'm a fan too and I have them in the bridge of two almost polar opposites of guitars; a super strat and a Les Paul Custom.
Also had a few in the past in a Hamer Vector Flying V, both an 80's Dual Sound and a Super D. Currently I still have a double cream original 70's one waiting for some Ace...
No, the German YouTuber...you know, the bald, nerdy guy with the 90s unicorn sweaters, who started believing a liiiiiiitle too much in his own quirky sense of humour and turned it into a schtick.
