I remember reading the Whitesnake Biog and hearing it was a Mesa Mark Coliseum II maxed out with all sorts of phase shifting, pitch shifting, chorusy stuff going on to thicken things up. It was into Marshall 4x12s. Obviously the Gibson Dirty Fingers pickups had a large part to play.
I just wanted to lay it out in a constructive way. It's a forum to discuss this exact thing. The real time/energy is invested by those blindly shilling a corporation or telling people how to feel.
I'm not a fan of Gibson, and this opinion has resulted in some serious hate and personal attacks, which I find pretty funny. If I had a penny for every time I was told "Look who uses Gibson" and "The best records where recorded with them," I'd be able to buy a Gibson! Shilling for a failing...
My theory is the louder things are, the more strain on the eat drums which drastically changes your sonic perception.

Anyone who "responds to the internet trolls," already is showing a lack of intelligence. It's also the most obtuse way to show how insecure you are about your own ability by going online to try justify it to strangers.

- Disconnected left and right hand
- No feel
- Predictable patterns
- Trying to play...
If you read his Auto-Biog he says he's not influenced by them. If you read the unofficial Biog it states he was obsessed with Uli and Blackmore. People tell stories of him copying these guys heavily in the late 70s in Sweden, buying the clothes, amp, guitars, scalloping etc.
The only guitarists...
I deffo try to be the Utilitarian dude...
I always appreciate the work of a decent sound guy, so I try to work for what is best for the venue. I take an AxeFX with L and R out for the desk, and a Poweramp to give me a little stage volume.
At home, it's more about the big 80s racks and cool...
