Check them out and tell me what you think - the new one "Quality Time" is all done with just one cheap Fender acoustic too.
Thanks!
I'm sure a piece of gear from Fractal can be made to sound as good or as bad as you want - it's all about editing the presets.
When I got my GSP I was shocked as to how bad the presets sounded, but after going into them and turning everything off other than the amp sim and building them back up...
I have a Liquifire in the neck position of my LP Classic (Recommended by Larry DiMarzio himself in a YouTube comment, he seems to reply them to a lot)!
It's the most syrup-y neck pickup I've had in my LP and my favourite so far; definitely get one if you want a really creamy sound!
The first bit of shred in the original comment sounded a bit sped up to me. Bit high pitched like he played it really well, but then they cheekily sped up the tape?
They used loads of different amps at the same time and dropped them in and out for different tracks and parts according to an interview I read recently.
Sounds really good and the last few albums have been brilliant, so they're on a bit of a streak it seems!
Not a huge Metallica fan, so from a bit of an objective standpoint -
It's cool how they're going "back to their roots" somewhat and with a better production than the last album it seems, but there's something about a multi-millionaire rockstar, who probably has every comfort in life and has...
I've been putting those little packs of silica gel you get in Dunlop strings in my guitar case in the hope of keeping my strings and hardware fresher longer seeing as the idea is they pick up all the moisture that could cause rust.
Think there's anything in this theory, or does anyone else do this?
Guitar looks cool and is obviously good quality, but I've said it before - Lynch is really going off the boil for me. I LOVED his playing on the LM albums and loads of the Dokken stuff but nowadays I'm sure he's got a bit sloppier maybe?
Can't quite put my finger on it, but his recent tone...
Weird that he would have dummy Marshall heads onstage, he's almost always had his heads in the tech area and just cabs on stage, so it's strange he would do this!
I like how he's gone back to the Jubilees though for that classic live GN'R sound (Not that his tone is ever substandard really)!
Sounds good like we thought it would, but it's not exactly the Brown Sound. Need to hear an A/B with a 6L6 version.
It's a shame Ed never did anything with Marshall and clone his original Plexi, maybe with a switch ala KK's "The Beast" mode.
No matter what the gear, as soon as I hear chorus on distortion it just reminds me of a cheap multi-fx pedal on "Stadium rock" preset.
Let's hear it raw, son!
Got the SSH+ and SSV in the bridge and neck and I really like them, but we know what we're like with our GAS problems, so if I was looking for some new ones, what do you think I should go for?
Something medium gain with a lot of clarity for the bridge and something nice and plummy and round...
Maybe I wasn't making myself clear enough - compare the throaty brown sound of Hideaway with Bluesbreakers, to the almost "straight into the desk" sound on this track from the Layla album post Cream. This is what I was getting at, maybe they started recoding his guitar differently...
