Thick, yet pretty clear and articulate still.
They are Ceramic, right? Yeah
Oversized Ceramic or regular-sized? No clue
How hot are they? Fairly hot. JB/Custom/Distortion-ish output. Around there.
Are they comparable to the Duncan Distortion in terms of output? Yeah, rough.

Grats! IICP is one of my favorite modules, for sure. Ultralead is also awesome in its own way; definitely a unique voicing that other amps can't really get.
I personally never noticed a huge difference between 9v, 18v, or 24v when I did my A/B testing. It's more subtle than I think people give it credit for. I'm willing to bet the treble frequencies from the 81 are what is causing the amp to overdrive more noticeably than the actual headroom of the...
Depends on who you ask and how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go.

I'm willing to bet it's the same cab but they adjusted their measurements they're reporting. I actually might email Mesa about that since I highly doubt they'd re-tool for 1/4''. It's about the height of the rubber feet on the cabinet if you aren't using casters.
There are two closed back cabinets in the Mesa lineup with V30s. The Standard which is also known as the Oversized or Rectifier cabinet. The other is the Traditional also known as the Stiletto.
Standard aka Rectifier aka Oversized...
Couple of these have been purchased. Updated the list. Still got a few more if anybody is interested.
Remember to use stepped bits when drilling these out, btw.
Any tubescreamer-style circuit should work great. Grats on the new amp, btw. The active EQ on those things are super powerful. Be sure to check out Killertone's vids on this too. He always gets great sounds.
Ultras are sick amps, but they're a bit tough to dial in at times from what I remember. Headshell on them is bonkers, so make sure to bring your A game when lifting it. Kyle Bull did a playthrough awhile back if you want to hear what one is like.
To answer your earlier question, the...
I still see XXXs/3120s (same thing) go for $500 and under on the used market. All tube, insanely saturated, brutal chug machines, lead channel doesn't need a boost.
Fair fair. No worries, man. I remember a mass exodus that happened on the FB group with everyone talking about how it was their last day and shit, but this happened within the beginning of the year which is why I asked that question. They used to have a pretty decent amount of employees running...
Can you name his current employees? I thought he let go of like all of his QC people, luthiers, and customer support people a few months back? I'm pretty sure it's just like two people besides Joe right now desperately trying to keep the doors open. Not really sure I'd trust a company that...
