How are you comparing them? The G2 has the same algos as the MPX1 (and then some), only the G2 has the ability to forego using the pre-gain FX and provide further processing power to the post-gain FX. If you're comparing stock preset to stock preset, that's not really a fair assessment.

1. Amazing sounds, especially for the price. 2. Frustrating routing and understanding. You'll absolutely need to read the manual. 3. Absolutely requires a line mixer to properly use this. 4. If you're used to the ease of use of the G-Major/G-Force, it will probably be very frustrating to use...

Great news! I got another Eventide Eclipse! :D Bad news... It's also broken... Only this one is subtle. There's distortion on Channel 2 but only on some of the presets; not on all of them. Ironically, the preset labeled "Micropitch" is totally fine. I recreated the "Roodis Tones" style preset...

That old Henning Plexrod that sah5150 made was kinda like that, if my memory is correct. Gain, Pre TS master, Post TS master, PPMIV all in one amp.

It's an Archon with a clean channel that doesn't sound like the original clean channel, and a gain channel that doesn't sound like the original gain channel? :confused:

Used KSR PA50 if mono and that form factor is okay.

EL34 is cool. C137 cap on the 50 watt sounds wonky. Obviously, try it first to see if you like it, but if you don't, clip it. Note this isn't an issue on the 100w. Hell, even Howard Kaplan doesn't care for it and recommends clipping the cap if that says anything. See:

Saw him live with Paul during the G3 tour in Orlando. Amazing dude and didn't miss a single beat live. The Racer X albums are still filled with scary guitar licks to this day. Master class in harmonized shred right up there with Cacophony.

This was my ultimate conclusion as well. Even when going all digital using NeuralDSP plugins, just wasn't enjoying it.

My Eclipse arrived broken because the seller didn't properly pack it, so no comparisons from me :( Powers on, but screen no longer works. What a bummer.

Your LXII is already amazing. I would start with that first before diving into other power amps.
