To be fair, his starting riff sounded a bit too grainy/raspy and the flanger was a tad on the too chorussy side of things. Almost like an Ibanez flanger opposed to an MXR.
The original's base tone is ever so slightly less hairy, more bouncy/syruppy and the flanger has more typical jet flangy...
Forgot these two; indeed essential. (y)
I got the special edition CD's with all the demo bonus tracks; especially that 'pots and pans' percussion stuff on the 'Don't stop' demo is insane, how musically gifted that family was...

You know, at this point I'd prefer an old-style block logo 'LTD' over the E-II logo, provided the LTD is a decent level guitar and not some beginner's 200/400 series.
If I can find an LTD Horizon Custom '87 (H-S) used in the next couple of years for a lot less than their current (IMO...
Mine doesn't, thank you very much.
But that E-II logo bullshit doesn't fly with me. Nor do all the Kirk ESP's with cheesy graphics... That all blacked out LPC however... :unsure:I'm kinda contemplating changing the hardware to all black on my black Burny LPC. Shit looks good. Did it with...
Especially the whole "I'm not fuckin' around, man".
What, you gonna assault someone on camera? :jerkit:
I just finished watching the 2 seasons of Outlast in Alaska on Netflix; season 1 has the two crazy b*****s that are stealing shit and the only reason they got away with it, because the...
Call me a sceptic, but it seems like you're trying to undercut a valid point with some unrelated comment about their age...fact of the matter remains that these guys are universally known as 'shredders' *and* can shred with neck pickups AND yield some (really) good tones with it too.
And I...
Wow, so...uh...she thought it was classy or at least suitable to wear visible white lingerie to a presidential inauguration? :censored:
Women often make fun of guys showing off Porsche/Lambo/Ferrari car keys...This is no different. "I paid a shit-ton for these, so everyone better take notice!"...
Ask Andy LaRocque, Yngwie, Warren DeMartini, John Norum e.a.
I for one need them. When they're humbuckers, I want to be able to split them too.
But most likely, my next shred axe will be an H-S config, where I'm currently leaning towards a Duncan Custom Stacked Plus in the neck...
@jabps @Nashville Riff Co I found a pic of a GrassRoots (basically ESP's sub-LTD brand, mostly for Asian market) Horizon that I sold ages ago.
It has the 3 knob config *and* the Jackson-style headstock!
Disclaimer: this picture was from some German auction, but I had the exact same guitar...
Same here.
A bunch of Duncans: '59n and JB (that came from my ESP Horizon), TB-5 Custom and 3 Dimarzio's: original 70's double cream Super Distortion (Dual Sound actually), a double cream Norton and a black DP103 36th Anniv neck.
That Super D is waiting for whenever I'll find some Japanese...
Was the original 2x volume and 1x tone?
My 2010 Horizon NT-II just has the one volume and tone like the LTD '87 Custom has.
Attached: ebony and ivory together (back when 'ivory' still had 3 Duncans instead of 1 ).
Side note: Kramer seriously effed up the jack placement. Way too high up the body.
No, a $1000 RI that I got used for $450 though. Now THAT was a solid price for a neck thru, 3x Duncan, FR1000 equipped guitar.
Turned out someone at Gibson/Kramer was sleeping at the factory, cuz they loaded two Duncan Hot Rail BRIDGE pickups (16.6k DC) in the middle and neck positions! They...
