No, he's not lying, just giving his own "alternate" truth or just embellishing the story if you prefer. He was "involved"... Maybe "at a later stage"... Maybe he suggested something but it sadly wasn't taken in account because the whole thing was already totally finished and in full production...
The amp was already in design stage long before he was fired by Mesa. I don't think he was a consultant for the design of this amp. I don't think he was involved in any way regarding the amp, apart maybe with the marketing department recently. His videos can be ignored altogether. No big deal.

OK I get it ! Just an additional inline insert for the gate is needed in the loop before the parallel part. That's exactly what I do ! I have an AMT noise gate in line just before the loop interface.
The perfect loop already exists, it is this device :
It is a parallel loop with kill dry, bypass function and send/return levels. It can handle pedal levels as well as rack gear. Put this in an amp and it will be perfect.
