NAD: cheap Wizard content (now with clips) - 2nd Update = MTL

I think the main reason is the outrageous prices... Not that there's anything wrong with super expensive gear.

Don't hold anything back man ! Tell us what you really think LOL

    Racks still rule

For loop level/buffering issues, I really like the CAJ Loop Interface that I use with my SLO loop ! It has kill dry and bypass functions too. Very handy !

I like the tolex, it's funky. Wizard's new or used prices though

New amp search. I think new 1959 Marshall is in the running.

Again, might be the best sounding Marshall I heard in a long time (the 1959, I'm less convinced by the 800). I thought it sounded great in the other Steve Smith official demo video as well. "Yadda yadda they only added a switch and a cap for $1K" etc. Still it sounds better than all the other...

Which 80s finger slinger wrote the most unique solos?

Was obsessed by him for a long time. Learned all the solos from "The Eye" years ago... I really loved the old King Diamond Abigail Live. Then he played on Death's "Individual Thought Patterns"

Bought some purple Ernie Ball patch cables and setup a drawer under the Mesa Midi Matrix with EVH themed pedals ! Fun !

    "Little Fighter" Isolated Guitar

What attitude ? The guy seemed kinda low-key and not particularly obnoxious. What did I miss ?

    Phil Anselmo's black metal band

So now rig-talk members don't like Vulgar Display Of Power and Far Beyond Driven ? LOL that's quite unexpected. I think both are masterpieces but what do I know ?

Marshall Teased Modded SLP1959 and 800

As a direct competitor, I'd rather say he's on shaky ground. My SLO DeYoung tranny emits a slight buzz when I really push the thing. I never heard DeYoung trannies labeled as sub-par. I wouldn't pay $3.5K for a new Marshall either but for $2K used, why not ? Paying new price on high-end guitar...

Marshall Teased Modded SLP1959 and 800

A guy selling modded marshallesque amps is criticizing Marshall. I guess suspension of judgment is the most rational stance here.

Marshall Teased Modded SLP1959 and 800

All the other components, resistors/caps/tubes/sockets/jacks etc. are already made in Asia. If anything, it's more congruent LOL

Marshall Teased Modded SLP1959 and 800

Not sure there is anything substantial demonstrating a drop in quality for Marshall transformers. Lots of youtubers talk doesn't make a truth.

Marshall Teased Modded SLP1959 and 800

Nothing wrong with that. When a boutique manufacturer releases a mundane/done-a-million-time-already amp at an outrageous price, it's always and de facto somehow justified by fairy dust/crystal lattice/black gooped mystery. Marshall doesn't need that. Good for them.

Marshall Teased Modded SLP1959 and 800

Yeah, obviously I know that but I like having the switches and front-panel decals properly done at the factory. It's stock. The mk2C+ is a slightly modified amp yet it commands stratospheric prices because the mod was done at the factory. I like my Gibson Axcess. The price was outrageous. I...

Marshall Teased Modded SLP1959 and 800

I like the tone of both the 1959 and 800 modified on the Marshall/Steve Smith videos. Seems to me both amps sound really good. Yeah it could be cheaper, yeah it could have more switches, yeah it could have been done differently/sooner/later/never yadda yadda. It sounds pretty good. That is all...

    Road Ready Thiele Cabs

Kinda off-topic but I was shocked recently by the new price of EVM 12L Classic. I needed to replace a V30 in a closed back 1x12. I checked on Thomann and they are €539 (!!!) new. WTF ??!!?? I bought one in 2017 for €239 which at the time was already kinda crazy compared to all the other speakers...

    Road Ready Thiele Cabs

That's a fair price. They look kinda rough from the front though. I'd prefer cabs in better shape for that price. Unless you like the relic look LOL

    Road Ready Thiele Cabs

Two Thiele cabs will sound huge no matter what ! Phenomenal bass and smooth treble. But I would use the 4x12s for dry and the Thiele for wet. I'm waiting for a good deal in my neighborhood on two thiele to use with my Mesa 2:90.
