I wouldn't spit on an Epiphone but the Gibson Bullseye LP is a really awesome instrument. Tried some used ones in different Paris shops years ago. Those were always awesome and kinda affordable then. I kick myself everyday for not buying one at the time now they're super expensive and out of...
That yellow MXR chorus pedal is awesome, I love mine. Huge headroom, super low noise level (barely any hiss), perfect in front of a distorting amp... Instant Miracle Man !!
That's what youth is all about !!! I can't believe I did a few shows in front of 1K+ people without any backup, replacement strings or cables or anything that would have provided a minimum of security. I clearly remember showing up at soundcheck with my guitar on the back and a few picks in my...
Whose rig is that ? I'm slightly jealous ! :p
My basement rig will soon grow 4U. I'm waiting for a Brunetti Mille preamp and an old Mesa Midi Matrix in the mail... Pix will follow eventually.
Got four 800 cabs (two full stacks), two of which being bass cabs. They sound great. all G12-65. None of them are stereo. All mono 16 ohms. No deeper, exact same size as lead kind. Go for it !
It does sound good IMHO (I do it with a Way Huge Conspiracy Theory). It does something great to the high-mids. But it is noisier (hiss) than my other boosts, especially the Maxon OD808. I still prefer the OD808 in the end. Here are the perfect settings for a 2203 on the OD808 as a bonus : Drive...
Your ears do not fool you, I was gonna suggest a Hiwatt. Lately, I've been playing a lot with my DR103. A Plexitube into it sounds just as good as my 2203. A MXR 5150 OD into it is really brutal.
Tracking/response is perfect, the best there is as of today. The only drawback is a change in tone when going lower and lower, as if the guitar is becoming more and more anemic. It's not really noticeable until you go to four semitones below. Three semitones is OK.
Ditto. After hundreds of experiments, I always come back to my trusty Maxon OD808. It sounds great and doesn't add much noise when everything's properly set up. Interestingly, it works best in my Rev G Dual Recto, but also in my old 2203. Great pedal.
Spoke to Gene Hoglan at the end of a Death concert in Paris around 94 or so. One of my first real metal moment LOL. Can't believe it's already 30 years ago. Been an avid Death listener since as long as I can remember. I also was at The Eindhoven Dynamo Festival in 98, the one they recorded on...
