    5150 amp debate

Hated the 5150 iii EL34 100W I played at volume. Just plain uninspiring. I liked the 5150 III lunchbox more through a mesa V30 cab. I recommend going smaller not larger, the smaller 50W has received more updates than the 100W.

(Sold) 1971 Marshall Super Bass 100W

I won’t make the buyer public unless they want to, but it is a forum member and we did mutually agree that if they ever decide to sell in the future, that I would be notified far in advance of anyone else so that I could purchase it back no questions asked. It deserves to be gone through and I...

Current Marshall modders that are original, unique, or just great all around?

That’s exactly what I wanted, and this is what I ended up with:

Current Marshall modders that are original, unique, or just great all around?

Yep totally agree - which is what I do. Mine is modified but with the intent of using a pedal and volume to get the amplifier to where I want it to be gain and sound wise both. I click an SD-1 on and leave it there all the time. There’s not much you can do to these circuits that doesn’t change...

Current Marshall modders that are original, unique, or just great all around?

Eddy Lenz would be the only dude I feel comfortable touching my marshalls. Him and I have similar tastes - Marshall character but just more of it. MichaelRT does the same thing but lower gain and VH / AC/DC level. Eddy just turns it up another notch to where I like it which is hard given how...

At it again; '69 SuperLead build

Congrats on the amazing build!! Youll have to post some clips! I just don’t have the desire to source all new NOS components from all over the world to attempt one on my own. I really like the sound of the sozo caps and could compromise there, but I’ve learned in my 74 that resistor...

(Sold) 1971 Marshall Super Bass 100W

Honestly I’m not hurting enough to sell outright. I know it’s worth more in trade than in cash in its current condition which is why I’d rather trade. If I had to sell outright, I’d rather just restore it - I’d fall short of LPC value, hence the desire for trade. Heres a picture of the...

(Sold) 1971 Marshall Super Bass 100W

Trade value would be $4,200 completely electronically restored/brought back to life and gig-worthy. It needs recapped both bias and filters, 3 prong chord, death cap disconnected, all coupling capacitors checked for DC leakage, and every single screw and electrical chassis ground connection...

(Sold) 1971 Marshall Super Bass 100W

We got approved last minute to adopt a husky puppy from a home where it’s in danger. It needs Spaying and the rest of her shots. This amp is now for sale and needs to move. Marshall is all original - Daly caps and original iron. Death cap still connected, still 2 prong chord. Original...

Bogner pre 2004 XTC cabinet speakers ya using?

You're not getting a custom spec anything from mercury magnetics, made to Bogner's specifications, without being a Bogner certified repair center of which there are few and far between. Sounds to me like you need to sell the amplifier. When you can't get the tone you want and need to start...

Bogner pre 2004 XTC cabinet speakers ya using?

I think I like the blue channel boosted with an SD-1 more than I do with the red channel by itself. All personal preference of course

Bogner pre 2004 XTC cabinet speakers ya using?

I use 25W Greenbacks with my amps including the Bogner 101B. Agreed in that it is not a metal amplifier at all, more rock or soloist type. It does have more than enough gain for metal but it’s not controlled gain. With the help of pedals and a parametric EQ, you might be able to get there. I...

1979 Marshall 2203. Fair asking price?

There are a few crazy nuts putting 79 50W's in the 2500 range. I will say it's not unrealistic to pay that much for an absolutely mint Fawn 79 2204 that's been recently re-capped, but that's few and far between.
