    Mesa Mark IV price check

No one needs 50 watts. 5 watts is plenty for any brown pant gig. With what is going on with the prices of everything and looking at the world economy.... I expect the prices of pretty much everything to go up and keep going up. Cost of living in the USA typically went up about 3% a year for a...

    VFE Standout settings

IMP adjust the impedance. You don't want to adjust it. It was set by Peter at the correct bias for the op amp to idle correctly. It's kind of similar to the idle on a carburetor.... if understand correctly.

HP+LP Filter for a tube amp

I used the Dragon a lot. It works good if you want more gain. Kind of his version of a Tube Screamer. But has a pretty unique voice. The Pinball I only tried a few minutes. The Standout is my favorite. I like it better than anything similar I have tried. It really works great to get control...

    VFE Standout settings

Start with the HPF off. LPF at max. Blend at max. Bring up the Level to just past unity gain. Adjust the HPF to get rid of any flub. Adjust the LPF so it isn't harsh. Adjust the Blend a very small amount to fill out the sound. Fine tune everything. That's how I do it with every amp.

HP+LP Filter for a tube amp

VFE Standout is the best pedal I have found for this. Excellent control of the shape of the sound.

    Favorite Tube Screamer for metal?

Isn't the Joyo Ultimate Drive a clone of the Fulltone OCD ? It's more a distortion pedal than a OD or boost. But can be used as one. They don't cut lows and highs like a Tube Screamer.

How is the finish in Gibson explorers?

http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2017/USA/Explorer.aspx Looking at this it seems they have changed the post over the years. The older ones are solid at the top. Only thing see different is the knobs and pickup covers. Based on the photos I think it is a Gibson.

How is the finish in Gibson explorers?

See the holes at the top of the post on bridge ? I'm pretty sure that isn't stock on a Gibson. That is one of the common ways to find a fake. Usually it has a slot at the top on fakes. Maybe they changed ....but I have never seen one like that before. I would go look at photos of Explorers...

WTB Mesa Mark IV head shell

I have mine in a combo....I would switch to the head but not into the reverb tank hanging out the bottom of the cabinet. Maybe I will build my own.

    Mark IV PSA

It was built 11/15/1990. Almost 32 years old. Mesa mentioned they should be changed because of age. My Tremoverb, Heartbreaker and Mark IV all are old enough to need a capacitor change.

    Mesa California Tweed Head

I have only used the amp as a combo 1x12. Never tried it with a 4x12. It should do okay doing those type sounds. I didn't dial in that stuff. But it seems fine in that gain range. That stuff sounds more like Vox.... It's doesn't do Vox sounds. More A modified Fender thing. I don't think of...

    Mesa California Tweed Head

I used a Rockett Icon with it. I wasn't using a clean sound on the amp. I only tried it a few minutes messing with lead sounds on a 1x12 combo. Seemed to work fine. I rarely use overdrive or distortion pedals. I'm not into them.

    Mesa California Tweed Head

I played thru it many times. One of my close friends has one. Never used it with a 4x12. Tighter bass than what ? It doesn't seem like it has very tight bass to me. It does have more gain than the Deluxe Fenders I have used. It's not as loud as a Fender Twin Tweed. The various power modes are...
