Picked up a 78 2203 JMP that the headshell is pretty trashed cosmetically. Anywhere to get replacement plastic parts nowadays? Noone I typically deal with has logos, top vent or corners anymore.
isn't gonna happen anytime soon......since I don't have one.
Messing around in the studio this afternoon trying a few different things. Been wanting to try micing up two different cabs to see what would happen. One cab is my beat up old Marshall cab with 2 original 20 watt...
Spent the better part of a month fixing my studio space...the roof needed some attention so it was back to more drywalling type fun! Finally got it back together over the weekend and moved things back in, re-arranged and re-wired everything. Seems pretty comfy so far. :)
My recording/ mix...
Went to the Pittsburgh show. He was using his sig Dean Sky guitars and two Blackstar amps....one looked like a 3 channel and the other maybe a two channel. Also running an analog delay of some sort, not very high in the mix.
The new Dean has a nice top on it.
Loud as all get out as...
Decided to move a few things around and hook some things up differently. First thing was to move my 2nd Wizard 412 cab upstairs...yeah that was fun! Thought to myself halfway up that this was stupid.
But continued on. After getting it up there I removed the casters so I...
So I the fan quit working in my Hotplate. Seems the THD website isnt up, are they gone? Anyone had this happen....guess I exceeded my 200000 notes.
Being alittle bored thought I'd change a few things on my board and see how it works out. Just noodling around with different setting on the guitar and kicking in a pedal here and there. Wanted to see if things would still clean up with the gtr vol and such.
Anyway its long and monotonous...
To you guys that use the 421, show me how you are micing with them? I've not been overly happy with this mic. Seems to have the same character I hear in some of their other mics....Its way nicer than the 609S....Mixing with another mic is cool. Maybe there is a trick to using them?
An ADA MP-1 showed up on my door step yesterday. Had been thinking of picking one up again and someone un-knowingly twisted my arm (Thanks Tim :) ). The clean tones are pretty killer really. The gain stuff is way over the top as to be expected. Cool for soloing.
Looking at the ADA mod...
Picked up another VL502 a couple days ago. All stock with el34's. Picked up a Q3 video recorder, so here is a quick clip. Didn't even change the amps settings from the original owner except for putting the volume up to 6. :)

I was visiting the other gtr player from the Iron Maiden tribute band we used to be in over the weekend. He had a show from back then I didnt know of on a dvd. Going to upload it to Youtube over the next few days and thought I would post a few vids here. Not too good quality, but it's all we...
Having a few vintage amps around that were made when line voltages were lower than modern times, it has interested me to know what they sounded like with lower voltages. Finally had the opportunity to pick up a Variac and give it a whirl....so far I've only tried a 68 plexi 100 Super tremolo...
would I like? Thinking about moving one of my amps for one of these.

I've got the Marshall thing pretty much nailed down with my two plexis, 1959RR and Metalface. The modded Marshall is covered with the Metal. The Fender...
Here are a few videos of mindless noodling around on my old plexi and 1959RR. My gf's little mini Kodak camera does some video, so I thought I'd see how it worked. Its not great sounding or looking, but not as bad as I thought it would be. High quality is a bit better.
I have not played...
Surprised at how clean the workmanship is...has resistors on the tube sockets for biasing, must have been to make tube changes on the road quicker. The bias was right on too. Svet EL34's, JJ 12ax7 in V1 (not now of course, old Mullard now) and chinese in V2 and V3....Ruby Gold Filter caps...
Freakin' AWESOME!!!! He was completely on fire and ripping it up...played lotsa cool tunes new and old...great band too! Oh and he plays LOUD!! Not as loud a Akrira Takasaki, but close   He played three solid hours. I took some pics and vids with my camera, probably not gonna be...
