Using the MIDI on these amplifiers can I change just the channels or can I change the channels and its modes too (Clean, Fat, Tweed... Mark IIB, IIC+, IV)?

I bought a LTD Lynch Tiger M1 model to my kids, put a Dimarzio Gravity Storm Pickup and loved it. I am thinking in to buy the Custom one, but instead a Basswood body as the LTD, it has a Maple body. Does anyone here have played both and could you tell me the main difference between them?
