For an already gained up amp which of these 2 pedals would be better for keeping the amps feel…blues breaker type or boss blues driver ?
Wanna try something a little different and these 2 types came to mind.
I’m always looking for pedals that keep the bouncy feel but also add just a tad more...
Just scored a Japanese Fusion HSS. Seems like a cool guitar so far. What mods or setup tips do y’all recommend?
Looks like both pots are 250k.
Gonna give it a while then take it in for a proper setup. Thought about upgrading pickups but the 250k thing kinda throws me off…never tried those...
Got a vertical input 2204 that probably needs some maintenance like a cap job. What kind of differences will be noticed if it’s never been done…it’s an 82 or 83
And will it mess with the value some ?
Had a random thought about speakers…do they change much with volume before they get pushed into actual distortion themselves? Like is some of the reason most amps sound better turned up due to the speakers being pushed ? Or do speakers follow the same EQ curve till they’re pushed to their limit...
Thinking about trying one in a super strat. It’s got a cool rails bridge now but want a more aggressive and hopefully EVH style blade bridge.
These any good ? Open to other suggestions as well.
Playing my amp at pretty low volume. Seemed fine then it’s like it got bassy and scooped. I thought I was going nuts but I swear it happened. I’ve done all the normal stuff. The cab ohms are the same, connections are good and no red plate tubes.
Could have been some volume drop but I don’t...
Who do y’all buy tubes from now ?
I’d also like some recommendations in the low to mid price range since I’ll be buying a matched quad.
Appreciate any info
Need a replacement for the cool rails that’s in there now. Doesn’t have to be high output just able to handle high gain and not be too out of place with the other 2 vintage type single coils. The cool rails just sounds like a weak and mellow humbucker.
Probably going off 250k pots
Wasn’t expecting to dig the Mark VII so much but it’s super cool. Definitely different than my other amps. Not as complicated as I expected and pretty easy to dial in so far.
Any suggestions are very much welcome. Channel 1 and 3 are great. Still figuring channel 2 out but that might end up...
Scored an almost all original version of the guitar that started it all for me. Ive still got mine but it’s almost unplayable from years of abuse and sketchy tech work.
This one is only 2 serial numbers off mine and way more original. It plays great and is really like a time capsule from my...
My 2002 100 watt apparently has it. It looks like the replacement boards are tough to get but I haven’t contacted Marshall yet.
Any suggestions welcome. I’ve moved on to other amps but when dialed in it’s killer too. I’d love to get it running again.
Just butchered my pickguard trying to move the knob location further away. Wheres a good source for a single HB and single ply like the one in the original white strat ?
Looking for a tone bender type to hit a gained up Marshall type amp. Like a high gain Led Zep tone. The bender types I’ve tried seem to work best into a clean amp and the tone is still way bright and too different than my core tones. But hitting a gained up amp makes it a spitty mess.
I’m...
Good pickup for Gibson type guitars doing the VHII and beyond type rhythm stuff ?
Also, does it stay bright and clean when rolling the volume back? Really thinking about putting something a little hotter in my XG.
Any decent explorer types that are a little smaller? I know Gibson did a run but they’re hard to find. Other than the melody maker line I haven’t seen much but those seem interesting…just wish they hard the normal headstock.
I’m open to all brands as long as they’re Gibson scale
How can I tell what version/revision I have ? It started out as a combo but I converted it to a head because those combos have their own gravitational field.
I’m running windows and need something easy for some basic rock band recording. I have no idea what programs are out there but ease of use definitely high on the priority list.
Quick question…I’ve never liked compressor pedals for a few different reasons. I’m seeing the Cali 76 on a lot of boards lately. I usually play single channel amps (or stay on the gain channel) and use my guitar knobs for cleans. I’ll use different boost pedals and such for leads when needed...
While technically safe what’s y’all’s opinion of mixing 2 25 watt speakers with 2 90 watts in a 4x12? I’ll be running 100 watt heads and playing hard rock.
I think the sensitivity is 98 and 100.
