The way I think I can run this live is clean, clean + TS type for edgy/Keith Richards, gain 1 for distorted rhythm, gain 2 for lead.
The clean channel is a surprisingly good pedal platform. So you really have a wide set of options.
It is the perfect alternative for my Bogners (Telos & 50w...
Got a SS100v2 and wanted an SLO/Ecstasy-sized head shell. Dave had the BAD team make me a BE-50 Deluxe head shell in SS cosmetics. Amazing!
Also, the amp is ridiculous. I always loved the SS100v1 every time I tried it but just didn't care for the cosmetics. The v2 sounds even better, is more...
I saw that original ad for the Bogner Helios and thought “finally Bogner made an amp exactly for ME” and sold my beloved 20th Anny XTC 6L6 to finance the purchase.
I knew 5 minutes in I had made a horrible mistake.
The Helios is a very good amp, and I love Bogner, but it was easily the most...
Charvel Masterbuilt Hot Rod Flames
Hen's teeth, especially a master built piece. It sounds and plays great, I just have realized that I have to have a vintage beefy neck to feel comfortable as I've gotten older.

The SLO is amazing, and quite dependent on how you run the loop and what speakers you are running it through.
Since it has (the OG version) an insert loop like a Dumble it responds like a Dumble to padding it down in the loop with buffers.
If you do that, you get this VERY rewarding...
I have always loved the groove of this tune so much. I remember when I got really into Freddie and found this record and was like whoa...I never hear this stuff!
These are all going to get you into that John Mayer “smoky Deluxe/Super on steroids” tone.
Which is a great tone.
The Ceriatone will also do the cascaded Robben Ford thing.
I have always wanted to try a Larry Carlton HRM styled circuit like the Bludotone Ripper, but those are rare as hen’s teeth.
The amp is harder to dial in than the 101b, somewhat like the original 100b, but it does reward the effort.
I was really digging this tone yesterday with my old Strat - a bit in the Eric Johnson vein:
Being around those guys…I don’t want to share too much but immigrant kids have it hard, and they were stunted by early alcohol abuse, and in many ways got kinda “stuck” at the EQ level of a middle-schooler. Especially once you get the rockstar thing going.
They were very kind to me.
Now Mike...
It feels just like an old late 60s Marshall with filtering and NFB on the lower end. Like an old pair of jeans.
Don’t you have those old 003 Pulsonics? You’d love it.
