Will Diezel ever make a tiny little practise amp?

? Just curious and would love to hear the result of such if so. Am interested in light weight/small for the sake of frequent travel and being more of a musician for fun rather than gigs/concerts etc... All the best! Long live Diezel :)

Brands that make EL34s (regarding a Herbert)

Hey guys, just been looking online for some EL34s: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksi ... &_from=R40 and I see there's tons of different brands, will any matched EL34s do for a Herbert? - Long story but haven't had my Herbert turned on for a year or two and tried on a friend's amp...

    Earcandy Cabs and legal advice

Hi there. I'd paid in full for an Earcandy cab, first payment in May 2009, last payment in December 2009. I don't have it. Does anyone on here have good legal advice? I have Tim's number and address at my disposal. Note to self and others to not use paypal on anything that might seem fishy...

    Is it harmful...

To play a Herbert outside of it's case (so the circuitboard is exposed to the cabinet it is sitting on as opposed to the metal sheet on the bottom of the shell)? I say this because I'm having my grill sprayed green again so the shell is in pieces but there's suddenly extremely low volume of...

    Low tunings

Is there any risk playing with high output pickups/massive strings/low tunings? I say this because I play a 27" Ibanez in standard B but I use .095 for the low B .070 for the E etc - I like heavy strings, but when I play on clean, if I play chords not too lightly it clips a bit?.. One day, not...

Will these work in a Herbert?

http://www.watfordvalves.com/product_detail.asp?id=1693 http://www.watfordvalves.com/product_detail.asp?id=1430 http://www.watfordvalves.com/product_detail.asp?id=134 I don't have any spares for my Herbie and one pair blew recently thus I wish to be prepared for when the others go. I want to...

    Biasing/whammy tuning effect link?..

I've finally just biased my Herbert pretty perfectly/accurately but I noticed something; I'd get seemingly all the pairs perfectly within 0.5 of 60ma, then go back to the first one and check it and it would be miles out  this distance shortened until I got it pretty perfect after doing...

    Some tube questions

Thinking of getting some new tubes as I'm out of spares so a few things I'd like to learn follow: 1. Why are tubes paired? What happens if you don't? 2. Can you put any amp tubes in a Herbert? 3. What are 'power' tubes as opposed to tubes? 4. Is there any difference in each pair's function...

    Herbert won't turn on.

I've recently had Resistor 48 (I think it was that) replaced and thus my amp has been out of it's shell when in operation (if that is of any significance) but recently it flashed lights on upon being turned on then died, the fuse had died, I replaced it, all seemed fine, no...

    Cab ohms

In time I'm probably going to get Diezel 2x12 (8ohms mono) and another brand of a 2x12 which I'm tempted to try get in 16ohms for the tone - I wouldn't be able to run both of these safely through a Herbert unless the second 2x12 was an 8ohm, correct?

    Is it safe...

...to play a Herbert on it's own out of the shell? I ask because the bottom is open on the amp (mother board displayed) and the amp shell has a metal bottom presumably for some specific reason? Thanks.

Resistor replacement question to Peter or anyone in the know

I've just taken my Herbert to a tech to have R42 replaced. He informs me he needs to take every knob/external thing off to get the whole board out as it's soldered from the other side, is this really the only way to do it properly? Seems a lot of work to replace one resistor.

    Pop

Playing my Herbert and Columbus today and had a strange problem - switching from distortion to clean = fine. Switching from distortion to clean when playing a note = a pop sound occurs  any ideas? For the first time ever recently I accidentally switched off the amp and then standby...

    2 'standby' questions

    1. How should one differentiate between the use of 'mute' and 'standby' ? Is standby long periods of time and mute short? and why whatever the reason is? 2. I accidentally turned my Herbert off from the power button instead of standby, I quickly turned standby off afterwards (though this...
