I'd have to go back and watch it again, but my initial impression was that the singer came in way early, and that maybe threw Jake off a bit. It could also be that, in that moment, Jake was realizing that his guitar was out of tune for that song. Shot in the Dark has a weird, specific tuning, if...
He really only used the Diezel VH4 on two Ratt tours (2005 and 2007). Ever since, for live shows, it's been the SLO (or rented Marshalls for one-off shows), including the gigs with Kings of Chaos from more recent years.
He did use the VH4 (along with the SLO) when recording Infestation though.
OP, sorry to hear that man. Hope you get some resolution soon and that you get back to 100 percent again. Keep us posted on your progress. I've been dealing with some kind of nerve entrapment over the last month as well... on my right side (pain in shoulder, neck... numb and tingling right...
Very cool Ron. Nice score on the amp and thanks for the clip. Just watched some of your other stuff as well. Love that tobacco burst Charvel relic that you used in your Telos clip.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
Andy is an amazing player. Incredible chops, and he always makes it look effortless. Always liked his signature T as well.
A buddy of mine owns a few of those Performance Corsairs and loves them. I've only ever owned one...ordered it from Kunio way back in 2010. I currently have the neck from my Corsair on one of my Charvels. No plans to sell at the moment, but I will let you know if that ever changes. Hope you can...
Yeah, even well-recorded clips... although they can give you a reasonable indication, they often don't tell you everything. So many variables.. how the amp was eq'd, speakers, how it was recorded, and the player of course. The only way to really know for sure is to play the amps. In the case of...
It was G. Morris who walked me through the purchase of my last two vintage Marshalls (to help make sure I didn't get ripped off). There was never any hard sell or comments made to steer me in his direction to buy another one of his amps instead. So if you're maybe lumping Morris in with your...
Old Marshalls or Morris? I vote both!
I own a few of both brands, and you really can't go wrong either way. Regarding Morris offerings on the whole, over the years, Glen has mainly made amps that were more unique designs and more of his own thing. And that's what I initially sought him out for...
Over the last decade or so, I've been fortunate enough to acquire a few old ones that were (and still are) in really great shape:
1968 Marshall Major (modded)
1969 50 watt Plexi (stock)
1971 Super Lead (stock)
Had a sound proof room built years ago, so they all get a lot of play time without...
