So there's a ton of talk about the differences between the 2ch and the 3ch Rectifiers and their different revisions... but are those heads REALLY as different as the forum hype wants you to believe? Here's a back to back comparison of my RevF 2 channel and my 3 channel heads (pre Multi-Watt)...
So for some reason this pedal seems to be the laughing stock of the entire guitar community, there are loads of memes and jokes about this pedal and how it's just a can of bees etc...but WHY?
Here's my take on it...because it's affordable and for a long time it was the easiest solution for kids...
I'm thinking about comparing this V with DF to my newer Gibby V with 500T...although to be fair there's a lot of other things that have changed between those two versions and that are definitely contributing to the tone as well (mainly neck angle and body thickness)
Hello,
I'm trying to restore an old 1979 Flying V I recently bought and got 2 "T-Tops" off ebay classified for a good price.
Now these look a bit odd to me...first of all only one of them has the T on the bobbins, they both have two rows of adjustable poles and they both read around 16.2kΩ...
So here's my stock 1985 Marshall Amplification JCM 800 2210 spitting out some pretty gnarly metal tones...
this was without a boost of any kind, just guitar into the head.
often under estimated beast of an amp this split channel 800...
Cab: Two notes Audio Engineering Torpedo Live with an IR...
I'll try this in front of a 2203 next.
Also in the loop of several other amps (well, I've tried it already but haven't shot any clips of it yet).
But while it's still cool as an od pedal, i gotta say I definitely prefer it as a full blown preamp into fx return
Thanks guys .
I actually didn't have the talky bits before, but was asked to do it over and over again.
So now I often do them but also add a button to skip the talking, so it shouldn't be a problem either way.
-about the reamping...I try to do both cause both have their advantages.
When es...
Well, the pedal is a PREAMP that's supposed to mimic the PREAMP of he head.
So comparing those while keeping everything else the same makes total sense actually.
But I do see that it's of course interesting to know how it sounds through other power amps etc, and those videos are gonna follow soon.
K, like I said, it'll be a while till I'll find the time to do some proper videos, but I just couldn't wait so I decided to record a quick and dirty comparison for you...nothing too complicated, just a ruff quick test...
enjoy

No, it's an easy as piss mod, anyone could do it for like 50€.
if you're a bit handy with the iron it's 4€ in parts and 10 mins work.
it won't look any different from what they do in the factory, as you can see they also just put a sticker "depth" on there.
actually if you buy an SLO in europe...
Here's a blind test between the Soldano SLO100 and its Kemper profile.
This time it's crunch sounds and I'm also trying to show you how either amp reacts to the guitar's volume pot and to being hit with an overdrive.
Pt.2 "Revelation" will be posted next week, so make sure to subscribe if you...
