That's how I feel about my early 2000's Mesa 4x12 that everyone seems so excited about. I still have it out of nostalgia for all of the shows I've played with it, but it always sounded brittle and brash no matter what amps (dozens over the years) I plugged into it.

They're cool speakers for sure. I have 6402's in my Wizard 4x12. They work well with brighter Marshally voiced amps.

Holy crap! I just pulled the resister between the volume and treble pot, and I'm floored. Way more open, aggressive and punchy. I can also hit it harder with an overdrive or boost without it smushing out. Thanks so much for this!

I may give this a try. Do I need to replace it with a jumper wire from the treble wiper to the master volume or can I just pull the resister out?
