Wow, used gear sales have come to a screeching halt....

It took about 3 months, but I got I $2,900 for a JP-2C and $1800 for a Rev G dual. Both on Reverb. There's not as many people looking to buy, so things are sitting longer. Prices are still higher than Pre-Covid though, so it's a weird market.

Bands that got better with age

Hard disagree on that one and Death. Everything Dillinger did after CI, except for the one right after Chris Pennie left, is better than Calculating Infinity. I say this as someone who still wears a Calculating Infinity hoodie. That album was off the wall crazy, but it's basically one long...

The night James Hetfield called me and my buddy " dicks "

I don't skip any tracks on Master or AJFA. I prefer them to the first two albums for sure, but I love all 80s Metallica. I like the Black Album a lot as well, it's just not the same band.

$426.50 for biasing new power tubes, replacing a preamp tube, and straightening out the transformer

I've never had a tech do any work without giving me a ballpark price first. If he said $75 and couldn't figure it out in an hour he should have called you. I just had my Mark IV done. It was $300 for removing and replacing the brown death caps, replacing 3 pots, replacing 3 preamp tubes...

Boogie Mark IV and Mark 3 ...

R2 on the IV is a great clean channel and pedal platform. Much prefer the IV to the III. I've tried to like the 3 (Purple, Green, and Blue) IIIs I've owned/played, but they're too bright and too boomy at the same time. Presence pulled on the IV gets that style, but without the annoying...

"North East" Amp Get Together - Spring 2024

I live right outside of Philly, and I'm always amazed at how far away Erie is from me. I would be interested and I know a buddy of mine would, but it would just depend on work schedules.

    Diezel VH4 or VHX? Herbert?

I've had a Herbert Mk I and II and now have a VH4. The best way I could describe it is similar to the difference in style between a Mark and a Recto. They both do heavy, but the VH4 is more musical like a Mark and the Herbert is more aggressive like a Recto.

I am an asshole (SD-1 content)

I own/owned a lot of boosts, but my favorite has always been the MXR Badass OD. I believe that's an SD-1 with a 100hz knob to bring back in some lows, and an alternative mode that boosts the low mids.

The reason rock music will die

The problem is all people do anymore is pick apart mixes instead of listening to the music. Everytime someone puts up new music on a forum it's "the drums are too loud" "the guitar is too this or that". It's annoying as fuck, and the result is the need for things to sound "perfect". It's way...

    Album complaint

Members of the band publicly stated the last album was trash. I tried listening to it once, and could barley make it through. We Are Not Your Kind was a cool album. Probably the first good one since Vol 3. All Hope is Gone has a few good songs, but a bunch of garbage too.
