i had always discounted it because I saw a lot of reviews saying it didn’t quite measure up to the dedicated vh4/herbert models…
but if that isn’t somewhat universally accepted wisdom I would be interested!
I don’t know if it’s their pickups, electronics, or what - but Tylers never sound like rock superstrats (ie charvels, suhrs, etc)…
They are more fat, rounded and/or muddy to me under gain
Required downsizing sale...
All amps are in essentially new condition - extremely low hours and never outside my home after purchasing new from authorized dealers (or George, in the case of Metropoulos).
All ship in original boxes with accesories. Price includes shipping
PRS MT-100 $1200...
I think this is exactly why it is much maligned - just crazy high expectations, particularly around covering all prior eras of marshalls.
If they had only come out with the OD channel(s) and just said a higher gain Marshall, I am convinced people would be much more positive about the model.
I dont get how every one of Shawn’s demos sounds like a close micd amp in a heavily padded isolation booth, making the gain in every amp have that constipated, strained, extremely fine grit sandpaper quality
These prices seem low for camerons in the current market (or for the last year or two, at least)…:not saying one off killer deals dont happen but l, in general, 3-4k seems really low
So, is this the same premise and reality that causes hi-fi audiophiles to plunk down tens of thousands of dollars on speaker cables??
I always figured it was Bs
This will have an eq more similar to a marshall - just be prepared it still does not have the same growl as a marshall…it’s a smoother, creamier gain structure than marshall…with a lot more low end/low mids available
