I have no volume from the red channel in normal mode but do when I switch it over to plexi. Any ideas what the prob could be?

I can't believe the hack-job done by somebody to this amp which I bought used under the assumption it was never modded.

I have a fairly new 20th 101B. It has developed an intermittent popping sound on the clean channel. It's barely audible on the blue and red channels too but it's there. I disconnected all cables except the speaker cab and it's still there so I assume it to be tube related. Any insight before...
