Thanks Guys! I went with a "burned-in" set of Winged "C"'s. Hopefully that, and proper biasing, will do the trick.

Mine seems to sound best with SVET's. Is there a rating for these (i.e. hard, med)? I remember buying from ARS years ago and they had some rating system for them. Or, are the Winged C's just a better version?

Forgot to say...if I were to go with the M4, I'd be using a VHT 2502 for power.

I'm needing as much flexibility as possible....I go from funk to heavy and everything in-between. Clarity w/out being harsh is a big factor for me.

I have an early XTC and was wondering if they were voiced for a particular speaker (V-30's ?). I've been using it with 25's, but it's been sounding somewhat "boxy" lately, even after a tube change. p.s. I've checked all the speakers I'm using...they're fine.

Swapped out my George L's with EA monorail on my small pedalboard (vol-wah-OCD-phase90-chorus-XTC). I soldered the ends with Switchcraft on both brands. Used it at the gig (blind) last night....waaay too much bass and not as clear. Lots of "on-the-fly" eq-ing. Switched back to the GL's and it...
