For me, it was the modded Marshall sound.
I liked my ‘97 Triple Rectifier(that I bought new),
but after 25 years, I didn’t love it. It wasn’t the sound I was after. Sold it, and bought a Bogner Helios which I love.
Some of the episodes have been ridiculously good.

LOUD as f_ck.
And positively horrible sounding.
I wouldn’t pay more than $100 for one of those late-70s Peavey amps.
However…
Could be good as a pedal platform amp.
Especially if you’re doing doomy stuff.
