NGD - Ormsby DC Demanufacture Sig

I would never get along with the neck, but love it!

I came this close to putting up the Metalhead Marshall for sale just now..

I have been messing with running my Triple Recto into a loadbox, and then running it back through a KT88 Poweramp. HUGE sound!

Playing through IRs pretty much always sucks compared to through a cab, lol. You should run it through a loadbox, and then back through a poweramp into a cab.

    King Diamond - Andy LaRocque

Andy is a monster player. Love him on Death's Individual Thought Patterns also.

    Mesa Mark III

That is one of the reasons I let my Mark III Red go after several years. It was a great amp, but always sounded like 1992. I just got bored with it, even though it was great.

Recommendations, Please: Line Level Low End Exciter/Boost in Pedal Form

There was an Aphex Big Bottom Exciter pedal. I had one many years ago. A sonic Maximixer kinda does the same thing also.

    Mesa Mark III

I also had a few of the Studio Preamps. I think I got those for $250 or $300 ?? I see those for close to $2k now, and I am just so confused, lol. I now have a Synergy IICP, and I am happy with it for those tones. It gets close enough for when I want that particular flavor. I reminds me a lot of...

Wow, used gear sales have come to a screeching halt....

Yes, the goal would be to pay less interest on your house than what your savings is paying in interest each month. However, that would not happen for several years. It wouldn't happen at all today if you had a new mortgage at 7% or whatever they are now. You would have to build up several...

Wow, used gear sales have come to a screeching halt....

I have done the calculations on that, and the dollars only really work out in your favor over a very long time period. Like if you started a 30 year mortgage today at 2.6%, vs. the rates staying high for multiple years from now. If it is less than 5-7 years or something left, you would pay less...

    Mesa Mark III

I also had a Red for many years. It was a great amp, but I could not pay today's prices for them. I got it for $600. Today I would probably just buy a JP2C if I wanted that tone in that price range.

Wow, used gear sales have come to a screeching halt....

Nice. I should be done by the end of the year. I have been hitting it hard the last few years.

So what’s the new synergy module gonna be??

Depends on how picky you are :D

Wow, used gear sales have come to a screeching halt....

I have a nice 2.6% rate, but I am trying to pay that off ASAP. I want NO mortgage payment :D

    Rectos now cooler than Diezels?

Part of that is probably just visibility and availability. I think I have ever seen one Diezel ever in person. Rectos are everywhere. Also, most people can't name more than 5 well known Diezel tones, where Rectos are the sound of generations.

Wow, used gear sales have come to a screeching halt....

I keep reading about how people are living off thier credit cards, but everyone is maxing out. Once the cards max out, and the student loans are due in September, it could get pretty rough.

What impulse responses do you recommend?

I notice that EAS 2002 OS Recto pack doesn't have a 121. I know the 57/121 is the classic combo. Do you find that to be an issue? I generally always prefer 121 IRs for the bigness. I keep thinking about grabbing some sort of OS Recto cab IRs. It would be nice to have something that sounds huge...

So what’s the new synergy module gonna be??

I think that is the case for pretty much anything. Same reason why those little 20w amps never sound that great. Big power = big sound :)

So what’s the new synergy module gonna be??

A Syn 2 and a Syn 5050 in a 2 space rack would be pretty small, and would be easy to move around.

So what’s the new synergy module gonna be??

I always thought a Syn 2 + your power amp of choice was the best way to do this system.

So what’s the new synergy module gonna be??

The treadplate definitely screams Mesa Rectifier. Hopefully it is not just another reference to the Z-Wreck.
