I have an acoustic with a passive Black Angel pickup. When I plug into a P.A. or amp, it is considerably quieter than my other two acoustics with a battery supplied preamp on board. If I used a D.I. box of some type, will that boost the volume so it can equal the other two?
Was looking at analog options for gigs, basically pedal sized 100 watt amp into a cab and decided an Orange Gain/Dual Baby would be a great option.
At first listen, the Gain Baby seemed to have more gain, more bass, and more options than my Super Crush 100 combos but still had that great tone I...
I was inpressed as soon as I opened the box. Great sturdy cable, feels amazing and nice clarity. Great packaging and even got a note on the free notepad!
I'll be buying more of these 🤘🤘🤘
I have been considering getting the Orange Gain Baby as a smaller, heavier sounding Super Crush, which is what I gig with.
I stumbled on great videos of the BluGuitar Mercury and checks a lot of boxes that the Gain Baby does, compact, non typical tube amp, loud, etc.
The Super Crush 100 I use...
I use an Orange Super Crush 100 Combo for gigs and am considering getting an Orange Baby 100 and using a 1x12 or two 1x12s. Would be about $600 for the Gain Baby and then another $400 probably.
I thought about getting something like a small modeller like an FM3 or POD Go, etc. into a Powerstage...
I went to a local guitar store today with no intention of getting another guitar, and especially not an acoustic. I have two nice Martins already so wasn't on my radar.
I tried out the Martin Johnny Cash, made in Mexico and made from HPL (High Pressure Laminate). As soon as I hit a chord, I was...
I gig with an Orange Super Crush 100 combo and sounds awesome. Loud enough for shows at just 11 o'clock on the volume.
I am considering getting an Orange Gain Baby or Dual Baby for gigging. I've thought about getting a 2x12 or another 1x12 but would like something light and compact. Here are...
I'm primarily an electric player. I have a Martin GPCA04 but haven't played others really, especially higher end ones.
I had my eye on a Martin 000-15m all mahogany and thought I'd fall in love with it. I drove ab9ut and hour and a half to a store and they held it for me. When I played it, I...
I'm getting a Martin acoustic that doesn't have built in electronics and looking to get a pickup that can just go in the soundhole, is passive and sounds great. Wondering if any acoustic players can recommend something?
I have two Orange Crush 100 combos and have been eying the Gain Baby 100. The Presence knob and "Tight" switch are two additions my Super Crush doesn't have but was also wondering if it has a different voicing, more gain, etc?
Just curious if anyone has compared the two. I've heard that the...
My truss today adjustment tool came in today and so I figured I'd give it a whirl, without going overboard.
I took everyone's advice and loosened strings a bit and made slight adjustments, probably more like a 1/8th turn, if that. After one slight adjustment, I tuned back up and saw it adjusted...
So depending on where you read it, truss rod adjustments are either a carefree way to learn about guitar setup or a way to snap your guitar in half and wipe out half the world's population.
I'd like to try adjusting the truss rod on my Martin and bought the adjustment tool. I've never done this...
I was reading about the Martin Flex Core strings and decided to give them a whirl. Great strings so far!! If you haven't read about them, the core strings part is a bit thinner and more flexible, with the overwrap built up. So you can bend a bit easier and not as stiff.
They seem to have great...
I know there are older delay pedals, like the Tech-21 DLA pedal, that are a delay with a built-in clean boost but they are hard to find.
I'm looking for a pedal i can hit during a solo, that turns on the delay but also increases the volume. I don't want to have to tap dance and turn two pedals...
I'm in a three-piece punk/rock band and do typical loud shows but trying to expand to acoustic shows so we can play more places, ro something different, etc.
I've been looking at getting something below $600 for one speaker. The plan is that i get one for vocals and my guitar and my bass player...
My band is this king about going acoustic for some shows at places where our loud music is a bit too much.
We are a three piece and im the guitarist and vocalist. My bass player does some backi g vocals as well. I wanted to get two amps with a guitar and mic input each and call it a day but he...
I know that a typical amp doesn't really jive with acoustic guitars and can cause feedback issues. Has anyone had success using just the power section with an acoustic preamp pedal? Id rather use my solid state setups with a pedal rather than getting an acoustic amp if possible.
Curious if...
