I had to go look at mine, and it's got the bare aluminum cover as well. The more recent one I had (2016 I think) had the black (powder coated maybe?) shield. I'm not sure when that changed though.

I saw the same thing, on the older Orange VT1000. Lots of people having trouble with reliability. I was thinking/hoping that maybe they had addressed that with the MKII.

Are they that good that nobody wants to get rid of them? That bad? Too niche? I got rid of my Hickok 800 tester because you couldn't "match" tubes with it, but there really isn't an economical tube matcher out there on the market.

Yeah, I tried to find comparables on Reverb, but that's one that doesn't sell often enough for Reverb to have actual sold data on. But 100%, that could bring some decent money to a Peavey collector.

Some of this stuff, you could probably find a range for on Reverb. You have to use Reverb's actual description of the item to be able to see what's below though. The more rare it is, there probably won't be a Reverb description and value like you see below, but you could check "Sold Listing"...
