    What's your oldest guitar amp?

'71ish OR120. In my time owning it, it's not worked more than it has, but MAYBE this time she'll come back from the shop healthy and strong.

What guitar are you playing today?

K-Line San Bernardino gets most my love these days. So hard not to pick this up every day.

Slash 2.0 pickups, anybody try them?

I might have to give one of of these a shot in my LP Standard. Been using the original version for a decade now. Always wanted a little more output and mids.

    Matamp style pedal choices

Magic Pedals hinted another DA-120 batch soon. Kuro T120 & Dunn Effects Green Priest are also good ones.

    Golfers

Well.. here's two vastly different ways to shoot the same score. And yesterday.. The good news is I fixed my drives and kept it in the fairway all day. I just forgot how to putt.

Top 5 amps of all time that you have owned and why?

My top 5 that I've owned in no particular order: '93 Marshall 1959slp: Sounded great cranked with a hot plate. I loved how raw this amp was. Also made a great fuzz platform. Had to be loud though.. Traded it off after noticing my ears never stop ringing. Mesa Dual Rectifier Reg G: purchased...

What's your favorite guitar and why?

My 05 LP Standard. Scored this about 15 years ago for cheap. Has had 2 neck repairs, however, they did a great job and it's very hard to notice. Was so dirty and grimy it was considered a plain top when I bought it. After many hours of cleaning the diseases off it, it showed its true self...

So, anyone else seeing Polyphia live this year?

I haven't seen Periphery in probably a decade, but when I saw them open for BTBAM they blew me away. Phenomenal live. I hope you both love it! I'm not going to lie, 3 years ago I had a short stint where I was obsessed with Polyphia. I like that they are progressing guitar, but it's just not my...

    Yeah, I Won’t Be Shipping Amps Again…

I had an early 70s amp pack ship guaranteed for its value through UPS. They put in in the box upside-down and the 4 front bolts could hold the weight of the 45lb amp rattled loose from the weight, bent the front plate, chassis, broke abunch of plastic parts, solder joints, dented transformer...

    Pedalboard builds

Not so clean boards since they are always evolving: I built this one to play in stereo. Mostly play it into cleaner amps and get all the gain from the pedals. Use it for space ambient jams. I've outgrown this board and would like to use some loop switchers (and possibly midi) so this will be...

    Think my rig is complete

That one is stunning. What a great wife! The only thing that has me hesitant on the Dunable's is the satin finish, especially on the neck. Have had some hit and miss experience with satin guitars in the past. I've heard nothing but great things though. I'll be caving when "the one" comes along.

LOVE those Dunable R2's! Patiently waiting for an aged silverburst with block inlays to pop up for sale..

    JCM 800 Clone recommendations

I second this. I picked up an SL-X earlier this year in a trade and ran it side by side with my 2204 for a stereo setup. You can get really close in sound. The SL-X didn't quite have the dynamics of the 2204 but it had much more gain on tap and the way the two gain knobs interact, offered up...

    JCM 800 Clone recommendations

You should check out Rockitt Retro. The dude does killer ptp plexi replicas and offers a '76 option, which is his master volume jmp 2203 & 2204 amps. Very reasonably priced for what you get.

    Any IPA fans here.

Schlafly Tasmanian IPA has been my jam for many years. Just a shame it's seasonal. I feel the NE Hazy IPA trend has really killed IPAs for me. I use to love a good west coast style IPA but the selection and freshness has sucked near me lately.

Can you get hard to find bourbon?

That's the hope, but I don't see pricing coming down too much, you'll just see more availability. When craft beer got stupid I started picking up Bourbon. Now I've just given up. Thankfully, I still have a nice stockpile from my days of being a liquor rep.

    Golfers

Started playing in Spring 2020. Until my kid came along last October I played at least once a week. Got down to a 11.8 handicap last year with my best round was a 79. I sure would love to get back to it, but now it's impossible to get away for 5 hours in the morning. I've found it interesting...
