If by just plugging in you mean straight in, try one with a boost man, it’s anything but boring. A boosted Recto is a greasy, growling, raging beast. And since you dig the high end aggression of Wizards and Herms, try diming the presence and set the treble to taste. You’ll get the tightest...

I don’t know wtf your talking about, but I totally agree.

I’ve got an MTL and a Rev C and love them both. You’ll need to boost a Recto to get it near as tight as a Wizard, but something magical also happens when you boost a Recto. Go for it, they’re different enough to warrant owning both, and they both fucking rule and rule hard.

IME the Black Stripe has the smoothest high end of all III’s, making it the most similar III to a C+. That being said they’ll still get nasty af when set up to do so.
