I noticed when it switched back to guitar 1 form guitar 2 the first time before knowing. From then on I figured the one with the heftier low end chunk was the LP.
Playing it back knowing, there’s a noticeable difference in output from the pickups but first time through could’ve chalked it up to...
Only two I’ve picked up two this year. A rather worn 1980 LPC I wouldn’t feel bad thrashing on tour, and bought this PureSalem Cardinal on a whim off reverb because I always dug their take on the shape and love the tele headstock on these older models. Probably the only two I’ll get this year as...
Honestly I fully support just fucking with guitars and doing whatever to them because you want to or makes ya wanna play. Guitar forums really fucked up that “I have no clue what I’m doing” aspect for a lot of us, for the better but also a little bit of worse
Been using the 75H for well over a decade in my cabs. They are definitely low-mid heavy as someone else mentioned. I think they rule. Any time I have to use a V30 cab or something similar, sounds way too harsh to my ears.
I’ve ordered some before. Took around a month and as the poster above mentioned, a lot of them are made when they’re ordered. He could potentially be backed up, and I imagine NAMM happening recently probably is a factor of time as well.
I wouldn’t stress too much over it.
Ha, I recently put a JB into a 1980 LPC. Just wanted to swap out the T-Top quickly before some shows I had coming up at the time and intended to change it for something better afterwards but now I kinda love it. Same deal, used to not particularly like the JB but have come around.
As for the...
First band I joined that was touring regularly, they needed a bass player. I’ve always been a guitar player but at 18 just wanted to go on tour so I played bass for a few years touring almost non-stop at times. But, not only was I not much of a guitar geek like I am today, I didn’t care about...
As far needing my backup, I change strings every 3 shows on tour. Learned over the years that’s pretty much the limit for me if it’s a headlining set of an hour or more. I can get away with a few more in a shorter support slot but generally stick to 3 regardless. Back when I wasn’t constantly...
Ideally, I prefer having at least one back up for every main. But the band I play in is located across the country so I have to fly there to practice for shows/tour or whatever so I just bring two in my Enki, and our current tuning setup has us using one guitar for most of the set with the drop...
I’ve got plenty of random riff vids laying around on my IG but as far as making a new one to this drum track I just don’t have the time this month thanks to band shit. Ah well, next year maybe!
Wish I had the time to give this a whirl but I’m already behind working on sets for upcoming shows next month. And I suppose I probably don’t even have 50 posts on this forum, ha.
I like the regular sized extra grippy jazz iii’s when I’m just playing/recording material at home but for shows I use the XL’s that are a little more thin, 73mm (standard yellow Dunlop pick thickness). I just play way too hard live to use the regular, I would shred my fingers to bits.
If you have an interest in tropical fish then where I live is the place to be! I don’t keep them, but I am a scuba diver and being in the ocean with all various creatures that inhabit it is a pretty surreal experience I’d recommend to everyone, ha.
The local reefs have all the regulars...
That’s a nice one, great yellowing on the finish.
3 of my LPC’s are over the 10lb mark. This one, a ‘79 (11lbs) and a 2022 (about the same as this one). My lightest is 9 and a half and honestly I’ve learned that might be my ideal weight as far as playing shows but the extra pound isn’t a deal...
This one’s only about 10 and a half pounds so not too bad for the era and still in the average for even modern customs, they’re just heavy guitars in general, haha.
They’re a vibe. My newer LPC’s are better built but I dunno, something about these that’s rad. Also they only ever did the plain top tobacco bursts with the full body burst job in the 70s and early 80s so not much choice to get that finish unless I got an M2M or something, but music zoo made a...
Technically this was yesterday but worth a mention, received this 1980 Les Paul Custom. This is my 4th LPC because I have a problem and my second Norlin, the other being a 1979. It’s dirty and grimey and I’m gonna take it apart today and give it a good clean and polish but initial impressions...
Haha, Florida gets plenty of hate and there’s parts of it that I think are total garbage but I love South Florida. I don’t really bother with anything central or north but yeah, love it down here.
