I'm going to a mini rig, and I'm between an EVH LBX, or Mini Rectifier. I'm going back to two 1x12 cabs, and can only speak for the Thieles, which I've owned. I'd like to get some feedback on the Rectifier 1x12s mostly, but would also on the EVH 1x12s as well. The key is bottom end, tight and focused. I will boost, and run an MXR 10-Band in the loop.

Would a 2×12 be a better way to go?

Don't overlook Port City OS 1x12s...I have two and they are great; very 3D.

Bogner 1x12 Cube. Fullest sounding 1x12 I have heard.

I have an older 80's Bogner Cube 1x12 with a Celestion Classic Lead 80 in it. Sounds really good with good bottom end as well. Very similar to the Friedman 1x12.

I had two Bogner cubes with CL80 in them for about 8 years. I heard the Mesa Thieles with the EV12L in them and sold off the Bogners. I like the Thieles a lot better. If you do end up buying the Thieles try and find the older ones with the EV speakers.

I have a couple of CAE 1x12's loaded with EV12L, they sound huge!

I think I prefer a 2x12 unless you're looking to go stereo. One problem with mesa theile cabinets... my band mates prefer it when I use my 4x12, the little 1x12 is just about as loud. And it's a sonic Lazer.. shoots straight out and kills small children . ;) they do tend to beam their sound pretty intense, and for some things straight in front of you, it's a bit much.

The Thieles with the EVM200L are great. Tons of bottom.

I have both the Recto 1x12 and the EVH. I prefer the Recto overall but I'd say that the EVH is a little tighter on the bottom. I like the portability of the 1x12s and the small footprint for tight stages (I stack them) and they're plenty loud if needed.
