I'm looking for set of good 10-52.

Buddy recomended me DR 10-52 or DR Dimebag Signature 10-52, what do you think ?
I heard good opinions about DR , but I need yours opinion on this exactly gauge.

Cheers !

Very poor consistency and they intonate poorly. Run far away from DR.

Because of the fact , that they are not vacuum packed ?

You mean EXL140 ?
If yes - good strings ?

Actually I have EB 10-52 , and i want change ...

Yes, I use them on one 24.75 scale length guitar. They work fine for me...

The dunlop set of 10-52 is awesome. It's what I am voted most likely to be rocking in a pinch

All in my experience / opinion of course...

I have used the D'Addario EXL140's for a long time, they work the best for me. I would like to try the DR and Dunlop versions, but I have never found them for sale in store.

GHS's version sounds dead after maybe an hour or two of playing
Ernie Ball's version sounds great initially but deadens fairly fast and the strings seem to be extra prone to getting really grimy / dirty

I've been using GHS Boomers exclusively since about 84-85, I don't find them to go dead as Inearthed has, in fact they seemed to last longer and that is why I continued to use them. I tried Ernie Ball, D'Addario with good results but I prefer consistency in strings. Even using the same gauges from different makers had slight tension variances which meant I had to adjust the claw to get the Floyd level so to put that to bed I just stuck with GHS ;)

+1

Hate DR.

HIGHLY recommend the D'Addario's or the Ernie Ball's.

I LOVE Ernie Ball 10-52s. My favorite strings of all time for anything above drop C#.

D´Addario is the shit.Use them on all of my guitars.
Ernie Ball is also the shit.Used them before but D´Addario has more choices

Yup this for me...I have been using GHS Boomers 12-52 with the wound third exclusively for about 5 years. I have found them to outlast the Ernie Ball's and are generally more consistent. Just my thoughts.

I'd recommend Elixirs. Although, I do have a set of EB Cobalts ready to go on for my next change.

People generally tend to recommend what they use. Imagine that.  I use 10-52 for standard or drop D tuning on a 24.75" scale guitar. I have been using GHS Boomers for a long time. I have no problems with them at all. I think at GC the Dunlop strings are a little less expensive. I bought a pack of those not that long ago because they were out of Boomers. They were fine too. I have never played a brand of stings and thought they were any better than another brand. What kind of guitar are you playing(scale length, Floyd?) and what tuning are you playing in? Those two things will help others here recommend a string gauge. Also, do you play heavy distorted stuff? Do you play a lot of lead stuff with bends? Answer these questions and you should get some better recommendations here. Then go shopping. Pick up a pack of _________ strings. Keep track of when you put them on and how many hours you play them before they start to sound not so great and/or when you feel you need to change them. Do the same thing with one or two more brands and you will know which ones YOU like best. Sorry for the book. I'm bored.

I prefer a custom gauge set so I buy from my local shop that carries singles - D'Addario. I get 10-13-17-30-42-54.
If I go straight sets I go D'Addario 11-56 and the GHS Low Tune 10-53 is nice. I enjoy 10-13-17 for plain strings because they are easier to play. Heavy string I like a 30, 42 and 54.

amen..amen...amen. i have had problems with dr string's since the early 90's. especially the "a" string. i have been doing guitar repair for a living since '88. the most consistent strings set after set for the best price are d'addario's.i personally love elixirs and d'addario used to build their strings and had their machines built o d' addario's specs...same machines. i HAVE found a new string company that i am totally impressed with tho!!! CURT MANGAN strings. they are made in colorado??? they spend a little more for better wire, but you can actually hear it. no shit. i dont have a dog in this fight, but i swear.......these strings are the best kept secret out there. PLUS ....they are not expensive.

D'Addario makes the best strings hands down. i think the benefits of using a even set outweigh the playability of lite strings on the bottom and heavier on top.
