In my quest for a smaller rig (for small venues) I've been searching for a combo amp. But settled on a 2x12 cabinet for now.
It's an old Mills 2x12 I am loading with some Blackback 30 watt Celestions.
It recently occurred to me, after I bought the rig, that it might not hold up with a 100 watt CCV!
I don't want to blow these speakers!
Maybe it'll be okay. Any opinions?

It could blow them, but remember its only 100 watts turned up to ten, just don't crank it to max. I believe scumback offers a blackback clone with higher wattage now.

I wonder what the CCV puts out on ch 1 w all clipping engaged. I run it at 3 o'clock live and it's not crazy loud.

I would not recommend it.

How can I check the watts live?
Edit:
Is there a way to check what wattage your amp is putting out?

3'clock?? The master? That is pretty loud. Do you have it on half or full power?

You would think so!  but all 3 CCVs I've owned we're different. I use ch 1
as my rhythm channel and this version I own now ( Kurt's and Nicks) ch 1 is weird like that. I can barely get ch2 past 8 o'clock.

Get two 100 watt Scumback Blackbacks for your 2x12". Why take a chance?

I could use my Friedman mod Jet City ... at 20 watts I'd be safe.

Todd,

that ccv you have is closer to around 125 watts... fyi.....
