I just bought a Langner preamp from a fellow forumite, and its set up 220v as it sits. I dont have much experience with try to convert back to 110v. Should I just buy a simple step up/down converter and run it at 220? How much of a process is it to change the actual preamp I wonder? Any advice is appreciated. Steve

It could be as easy as moving a wire from one lug to another, or it could need a new transformer. Some(most?) transformers have a tap for 110, one for 220 and one for 240. If it doesn't, I would think of getting a good converter. Handy to have incase you buy something else that runs on 220 later. And it doesn't take up THAT much space in the rear of a rack, anyways.

Steve, take it to some good tech and he'll re-wire it in 10 minutes! Originally it was wired for 110v, so it's easy to re-solder Langner back to 110v. Actually, such work is my one of the most frequent request to my amp tech.

Thanks for the comments guys.....I bought a converter for now, but I think eventually I will have a tech rewire it for me. Oh, and btw....this preamp is incredible!

Steve, I expected such reaction ;) Write some clips for all guys here

Yeah....I do plan to do some clips. Its amazing how the Langner stuff has been under my radar for so long. Impossible to find clips of this preamp on the web.
