Hmm, I never used the L90 before. To be honest I have never really had much about them in general. Post some clips to compare?

Do you own the Marshall jcm800KK (I think that is what it is) in your avatar?

Glad you like it man, but I hated the L500XL. It was thin and bright to me. I switched to Anderson pickups and have been happy ever since. It's all about what works for you.

I love my OBL's!!

This was my experience as well. I had 2 500xl's given to me, and I could not stand them. Very harsh and shrill highend imo.

L500XL is one of my favorite pickups for Mahogany bodied guitars..

I have a BL L500 (not XL) and in the right guitar it sounds pretty kick ass. I bought it to get the Nuno tone. I have a dark strat it is going into. In a bright guitar though, yeah these have too much top end.

I loved the L500 when I had it in my old Mockingbird. I was going for the Joe Perry late Rocks/Draw The Line type of thing a couple of years back.

Nice sounding clip.

Yeah the L90 sounds better in a darker sounding guitar. ;)

Thanks for checking out my clip.

The L500 in the first pic is a copy mounted in Washburn guitars.
VERY different to the L500 of Wilde Pickups...i suggest to try the real deal.

I have and had many BL pickups, L45, L90, a P90 like, and some L500.
