i dont have the same issue at all... i run my kemper to an 11 rack to my yamaha HS8s. Sounds great, the cab sims make a HUGE difference to the sound. I find swapping cabs seems to be the way to go to make the best profile for your particular guitar and style (unless making your own profile from your amp). All of my high gain profile sound so different, i am sure it is because of your cab... i really do love the kemper, it still hasn't replaced my amps for live use, but love it at home.Crunchtime":uvd9wa2d said:I'm having an issue with my high gain Kemper profiles. I am using DI profiles with cab sims off and a VHT D412 cab loaded with Helatone 60's. I know this cab has to be coloring the tone big time but that cab rules with my tube amp so I'm not changing anything with it.

3. Ears are broke and if you can't hear difference now monitors won't help.

I'm a huge fan of the Friedman ASM-12 and a few of us that own them think it does a great job of capturing the tone of a guitar cab, especially for high gain type presets. I tried several different solutions (Xitone 1x12, Matrix NL12, Matrix GT-1000FX with Marshall cabs) although all sounded great, it didn't fit my hard rock tone like when playing thru the Friedman ASM-12.
There are a few posts about the Friedman and some other solutions. I know everyone has their own opinion on what sounds great and what doesn't but I really like it.

IMO a lot of the amps sound the same on the Kemper. But the IR's and cab profiles, whatever you want to call them is where you can make the sound differ drastically. I can not do small studio monitors. For some reason they just kill my ears in short order. I have 2 Q12's and I'm as happy as a pig in shit.
